Our non-fossil fuel certificate usage status (FY2021 results) (Note 5)
Pie chart of Non-Fossil Certificate Usage
We sell some customers renewable energy plans that use 100% hydroelectric, geothermal, and other sources of power, as well as substantially renewable energy plans and substantially CO2-free plans that use non-fossil fuel certificates. The power source composition and non-fossil fuel certificate usage for other plans is as described above.
- Non-fossil fuel power sources, including renewable energy
Of this electricity, the portion that does not use non-fossil fuel certificates is considered to have value as renewable energy and CO 2 It has no value as a zero-emission power source, and its CO emissions are lower than the national average for electricity, including thermal power generation. 2 It is treated as electricity with emissions.
- FIT Electric
Part of the cost of procuring this electricity is covered by levies collected from all electricity users, including those who are not our customers. The portion of this electricity that does not use non-fossil fuel certificates is calculated based on its value as renewable energy and its CO2 emissions. 2 It has no value as a zero-emission power source, and its CO emissions are lower than the national average for electricity, including thermal power generation. 2 It is treated as electricity with emissions.
This applies to electricity generated from solar, wind, hydroelectric (less than 30,000 kW), geothermal and biomass power.
Overview of the Feed-in Tariff Scheme for Renewable Energy
- Electricity procured from the wholesale power exchange
This electricity includes hydroelectric, thermal, nuclear, FIT electricity, renewable energy, etc.
- others
This includes electricity procured from other companies where the power plant cannot be identified.
- Usage of Non-Fossil Certificates
The usage of Non-Fossil Certificates in fiscal year 2021 will apply to electricity generated from January to December 2021.
- The calculations are made and published based on the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Guidelines for Electricity Retail Sales."
- Calculated based on the amount of electricity generated by our company and the amount of electricity procured from other companies (excluding remote islands).
- By purchasing non-fossil certificates, we aim to increase the actual proportion of non-fossil electricity.
- Due to rounding, totals may not add up to 100%.
Our CO2 emission coefficient (FY2021 results)
CO2 Emissions Factor (Adjusted Emissions Factor)
(Note) 0.382kg-CO2/kWh
- Revised due to the correction of incorrect CO2 emissions data reported to us by other power generation companies (May 26, 2023)
- The above values were reported to the government in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures (Global Warming Countermeasures Act).
