Wallopoids are rectangular enemies in Donkey Kong Bananza , first appearing in the Groove Layer. They are walls of different sizes that are made of varying terrain and bear the face of Void Kong. Initially, a Wallopoid is disguised as a wall, when approached, it suddenly reveals itself while snarling before crashing into the ground, damaging Donkey Kong if he's caught under it; the amount of damage dealt is dependent on the terrain the Wallopoid consists of. A few seconds after slamming down, the Wallopoid rises back up regardless of if Donkey Kong is on its backside. They are defeated if any part of them breaks off, causing them to disappear and leave gold behind. Some Wallopoids can survive having a chunk broken off if the injury is sustained while they are falling; this is potentially a bug. Wallopoids cannot be interacted with from behind; this forces Donkey Kong to use Fractone tunnels in the Groove Layer.

Wallopoids are the only enemy found in New Donk City and the Planet Core to not be replaced by a member of the Kremling Krew, instead visually changing to depict King K. Rool. Wallopoids of this variety are named K. Wallopoids in Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush . Both of these varieties also have collectible statues on DK Island, with the Wallopoid statue being placed on the south side within the North Cave, while the K. Wallopoid statue being placed on the deck of the Gangplank Galleon. An Emerald Perk called "Wallopoid Demolisher" can appear during an Emerald Rush, which increases the amount of emerald ore that appears after defeating a Wallopoid.

Naming[edit ]

"Wallopoid" is a pun on "wall" and "wallop", with the "-oid" suffix that is shared by most enemies found in the Underground World, in reference to the Void Company which created them. "K. Wallopoid" is likely derived from "King K. Rool" or "Kremling" and "Wallopoid".
