Shuffle Stone

Shuffle Stones are objects in Donkey Kong Bananza . They first appear at the start of the Forbidden Layer as cubes that periodically alternate between being made of pure gold and Slippery Neptunite. A few ding-like sounds play before each alteration. Throwing a chunk of soft terrain at a Shuffle Stone causes the chunk to merge with the Shuffle Stone, provided that the Shuffle Stone is currently made of a terrain type that allows soft chunks to stick to it. In the Shuffling Shaft, one of the walls switches between Neptunite and Slippery Neptunite. The floor of that part of the Shuffling Shaft switches between Bedrock and Electrified Iron. In many of the Forbidden Layer's Challenge Courses and Battle Challenges, Shuffle Stones appear. In Slippery, Soaking Shuffle, Shuffle Stones that switch between dirt and Slippery Iron, and dirt and water appear as the primary components of the Challenge Course. Forbidden Layer Battle Challenge 3 features Shuffle Stones that toggle between ice and mud.

Shuffle Stones were placed in the Forbidden Layer as an anti-trespassing tool to confuse those who enter the layer.^{[citation needed]}
