Antickoids are insectoid enemies in Donkey Kong Bananza . They are purple, four-legged creatures with golden antennae that resemble ants. They have large, crystal-like abdomens that can contain a variety of materials, including bedrock, gold, and dirt. Antickoids are the first type of enemy Donkey Kong encounters in the game, appearing in the opening scene on Ingot Isle, where they can be found attacking a group of Prospector Monkeys. Antickoids pursue Donkey Kong on sight and attack by slamming their abdomen down in front of them. Donkey Kong can defeat them in a single punch, after which they will leave behind the material that was in their abdomen.

In the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, a statue of an Antickoid can be collected and placed at the southern side of the Jungle Ruins on DK Island. An Emerald Perk called "Antickoid Demolisher" can appear during an Emerald Rush, which increases the amount of emerald ore that appears after defeating a Antickoid.

Naming[edit ]

"Antickoid" is derived from "ant" and "tick", two bugs that Antickoids resemble, and "antic". The name includes the "-oid" suffix that is shared by most enemies found in the Underground World, in reference to the Void Company which created them.
