KAOS, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

KAOS, also formatted as Kaos and sometimes titled Kaos the Robot,[1] is the puppet leader of the Kremling Krew and a boss first appearing in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! KAOS is a large green jet-propelled robot with two square holes on the sides, three lights, and a reel-to-reel recorder on the front. KAOS has three heads: a helmet with a visor that shoots lasers, a human-like head with sunglasses, and a cylinder with bloodshot red eyes.

History[edit ]

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble![edit ]

KAOS
The first boss battle against KAOS

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, KAOS is first fought in Mekanos' boss level, Kaos Karnage. KAOS identifies the Kongs as a threat and engages them in battle. KAOS first tries to attack the Kongs with his exhaust flames. The Kongs can avoid them by running under KAOS while he is not releasing exhaust flames. After this, KAOS stops moving and sends out spinning blades. The Kongs must quickly jump on the spinning blades to then jump onto KAOS' head, before a robotic arm with a red punching glove extends from the left side of KAOS then the right side, knocking the Kongs off the blades. After enough hits, KAOS' head detaches and floats in the air, revealing a second head that resembles a skull with sunglasses. During this part, KAOS' floating head swoops down and tries to zap the Kongs with his laser. After being avoided, KAOS sends out his blades again, and the Kongs must jump on KAOS' skull head again. After doing this enough times, KAOS' floating head falls down and explodes, and KAOS retreats. The Kongs acquire one of the skis for defeating KAOS.

KAOS is fought again in Kastle Kaos, at the end of Kaos Kore. KAOS descends into the area, now without his helmet, causing the battle to start. The Kongs must throw barrels at KAOS' head to attack it. KAOS' head then rockets out of his body, revealing a third cylindrical, black red-eyed head in its body, KAOS MK. II.[2] KAOS MK. II attempts to attack Dixie and Kiddy with a grenade-launcher hidden inside a hole on top of his head. The Kongs must continue attacking KAOS' head with barrels. After being attacked, KAOS' skull head retreats back in his body, shutting down and falling to the ground. A crane hook descends and lifts KAOS' body into the air. A nearby curtain opens and reveals Baron K. Roolenstein, who was the mastermind behind KAOS all along. K. Rool says that he constructed KAOS from his wife's pots and pans. Baron K. Roolenstein starts to battle the Kongs. When the Kongs defeat Baron K. Roolenstein, KAOS descends from the ceiling, and Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong climb out of KAOS' powerless body, revealing that their brain power was used to power KAOS.

Donkey Kong Land III[edit ]

In Donkey Kong Land III , KAOS is still a boss, though he otherwise has no other role, unlike in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. KAOS is the boss of Great Ape Lakes, where he is fought in the boss level, Krazy Kaos. During battle, KAOS moves back and forth during the level. As KAOS does this, Dixie or Kiddy must jump over him. Shortly after, KAOS moves to the upper middle of the screen, and then slide a blade off his right side and then his left, while ejecting a punch from a boxing glove on the other side. The Kongs must jump on KAOS' head to attack him, but not while he has an electric current on his head. After three hits, KAOS is defeated.

Donkey Kong Bananza[edit ]

In Donkey Kong Bananza , a fossilized KAOS appears as the extra-rare "Robot" fossil in the Feast Layer. K. Rool's Propellerpack is also designed after KAOS.

Quotes[edit ]

“Bzzzt... Bzzzt.... Bzzzt..... KONGS... WIN?????.... DOES NOT COMPUTE... Next time we meet... KAOS will win!!!!!”
After being defeated for the first time
“Whirrr... Click... Click... KONGS... BACK. Click... Bzzzt... This time KAOS will be VICTORIOUS!!!”
After encountering the Kongs in Kastle KAOS
