Bazooka, Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

Bazooka, also known as Brigadier Bazooka,[1] is a member of the Brothers Bear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! He is the Brother Bear of Mekanos, where he has his own cabin, Bazooka's Barracks. Bazooka is a veteran of the Kremean War. In one of his quotes, Bazooka mentions to the Kongs that he and his army were trapped in a clifftop area surrounded by another group, but cuts himself off before he specified who was surrounding them.[2] Bazooka appears in a brigadier's outfit and has a large mustache. In the Game Boy Advance remake, he is shown in active military attire without a mustache. During the game itself, Bazooka owns a cannon named Big Bessie. Bazooka wishes to power it back up but is unable to because he lacks the ammunition to do so. If the Kongs bring the bowling ball to Bazooka, he can use it as ammunition for Big Bessie. This fires the Kongs to Mekanos's secret cave, which is suspended from a crane, "Sky High Secret". If the Kongs revisit Bazooka, he is happy that Big Bessie is working and happily offers them to reuse it.

Quotes[edit ]

Entering his barracks[edit ]

  • "Morning, Kongs! Brigadier Bazooka here. All present and correct I see! Marvelous. I fought in the Kremean War, don't you know, but I've retired from the service along with 'Big Bessie. Who's 'Big Bessie'!? She's only the biggest and greatest cannon of all time - What a beauty!" (first meeting)
  • "Have you seen 'Big Bessie'? I haven't fired her for years - no ammunition, y'see." (no bowling ball)
  • "I have lots of old artillery, you know? But Bessie's my favorite - what a noise!" (no bowling ball)
  • "What have you got there, Dixie/Kiddy/Kongs? A heavy ball!? Well you never know, it might just work... Shall we load Big Bessie up and fire her off?" (received the bowling ball)
  • "What a crackling noise! It was good to hear her again! I say, would you like to have another try, Dixie/Kiddy/Kongs?" (with the bowling ball)
    • "Okay, let's give it a go! Ready... Aim............." (accepted)
    • "No? I think it was probably a shot in the dark anyway." (denied)

Leaving his barracks[edit ]

  • "You want to use my cannon, young Kongs? Not without some sort of ammo I'm afraid." (no bowling ball)
  • "It would be splendid to fire he one more time. But she needs some ammo to really get going." (no bowling ball)
  • "Aahhhh, the memories come flooding back , you know? We were trapped on a clifftop surrounded by... Oh, sorry." (with the bowling ball)

Profiles[edit ]

  • Instruction booklet: Brigadier Bazooka is an old army veteran of the Kremean War.[1]
  • Player's Guide: Kremean War veteran Bazooka Bear has been posted to the barracks on Mekanos to command the old artillery piece, Big Bessie. He'd be delighted to fire off the cannon for you if you took him a suitable piece of ammunition. It turns out that Blue Bear's boeling ball is the right size for Big Bessie's barrel. When Bazooka fires Big Bessie, you'll be launched to Sky-High Secret, a floating island where you'll find another Banana Bird.[3]
  • Instruction booklet (Game Boy Advance version): Bluff old Brigadier Bazooka is an army veteran from the days of the Kremean War.[4]
