“Do you think all EelingEelings become Eelevator Eelevators when they get big enough? No wonder they grow so much, the way they gobble everything down.”
Pauline , Donkey Kong Bananza

Eelings (also parsed in lowercase)[1] are allies in Donkey Kong Bananza , found in both the Landfill Layer and the Feast Layer. They are shiny blue orbicular underground eels with orange lips, pale blue fins, and an orange dorsal fin. Their skin is crystalline and resembles Fractonium. Idle Eelings are asleep and awaken when Donkey Kong approaches. Once awake, an Eeling charges toward terrain, eating its way on a set path, leaving a tunnel for Donkey Kong to travel through. Once it emerges from terrain, it becomes larger and will stop moving until Donkey Kong makes contact with it; once they collide, the Eeling will high-five Donkey Kong and jump into a portal in the ground, leaving behind many gold pieces.

Eelings are part of the Eel Family and are implied to be young Eelevators by Pauline.

In the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, a statue of an Eeling can be collected and placed on the West Islet nearby DK Island.
