Gold, also referred to as Banandium Gold, is a collectable item in Donkey Kong Bananza , and a common occurrence in the Underground World. Obtaining gold restores the player's Bananergy, and gold can be spent to buy items at the Stuff Shop. Using the Hand Slap move will automatically collect any nearby gold. There are two types of gold: smaller, singular pieces that are worth less, and larger clumps that are worth more. Banandium Gold is stated to be a different mineral from gold, though nearly identical and equal in value. The maximum amount of gold that a player can have at a time is 999999.99.

Gold is also one of the various terrain types in Donkey Kong Bananza, usually existing as pure gold. Gold is a very soft material, and chunks of this terrain are known as gold bullion and act as an explosive when thrown, albeit a weaker one than Boom Bombs. Punching gold terrain will scatter pieces of gold, which are automatically collected. Various golden roots, also made of this terrain and shaped like bananas, occur in the Underground World as well. These tendrils are said to stem directly from the Banandium Root, and appear more frequently in the deeper layers of the Underground World.
