“Not half bad... I've never faced a foe who's above average. But! Sharpcask will put a quick stop to your lucky run! Remember Gobblick? Well, Sharpcask is full of FAR more Spite Bulbs! He's on an entirely different level of terrifying strength. Enjoy...”
Ecks , Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Sharpcask is a high-ranking member of the Zok Troops who appears in Mario & Luigi: Brothership . He is a robotic, anthropomorphic barrel who is quite stronger than Gobblick, as stated by Ecks due to the fact that he has gobbled up more Spite Bulbs than Gobblick. Sharpcask has a silver metallic shell with the plates of his shell resembling wooden planks, and a slit in the middle of his body reveals his face, which is black save for two blue glowing eyes. His arms end in pincers akin to a crab or a crane game claw, while two stubby "legs" come out of his base.

Battle[edit ]

In battle, Sharpcask starts off by retracting his limbs and rolling into Mario and Luigi, an attack that the Mario Bros. must dodge. The Bros. can counterattack him during this attack by jumping on him. Additionally, Sharpcask can also throw barrels at the Mario Bros., and the brothers must dodge them. How the barrel must be dodged depends on how Sharpcask throws it at his target, with a bowling motion meaning he will throw it along the ground and the target must jump over it. If Sharpcask spikes the barrel into the ground, the target must stay on the ground as the barrel bounces overhead. Sharpcask can also do a shoulder charge, used after his barrel throw attack. Another attack involves him running towards a Bro while carrying a metal crate on top, and upon reaching his target, Sharpcask will lean forward and backward while attempting to crush the target with the crate. He must be countered with the Hammer while leaning away from his target to safely damage him, as doing so while he is leaning towards his target will cause him to throw his crate on top of the target in which case both combatants take damage (Sharpcask from his target's hammer and the target from Sharpcask's crate that he threw).

When his health gets cut in a quarter, Sharpcask will restore 48 HP and retract into his shell to guard against attacks, causing them to deal little to no damage. This later requires Luigi Logic to pile up some metal boxes on Sharpcask by moving a treadmill (using Left Stick) to deal a lot of damage. Following that, Luigi will move the treadmill to cause Sharpcask to fall. This stuns him for a short time and makes him prone to critical hits. On the first time this Luigi Logic action is successfully performed, Sharpcask will roll down several sloped treadmills and take chains of damage. Any later executions of Luigi Logic in this battle will also have Luigi try to avoid bombs when stacking up the crates, which destroy the crate at the top of the stack.

Throughout the battle, Ecks will appear to do a dance, raising Sharpcask's power and defense by a small amount, accumulating his stats. When his health is halfway gone, Sharpcask will become enraged. He also gains a new attack where he plants both hands on the ground near a Bro. and retracts his feet, after which a bomb appears behind him and explodes, the blast catapulting Sharpcask onto his target. He must be countered with a hammer strike. Upon defeat, Sharpcask gives the Sharpcask Hammer and 40 Sprite Bulbs.

Sharpcask can later be fought in a stronger, Glohmy form known as Glohm Sharpcask.
