Mega Snaptor, Mario & Luigi: Brothership

The Mega Snaptor is a boss who appears in Mario & Luigi: Brothership . It is a larger Snaptor with a different crest, though its appearance is the same otherwise. It appears in both the intro cutscene after Mario wakes up on Conductor Island following his and Luigi's arrival to Concordia and on Lottacoins Island; in the latter scene, it is used by the Extension Corps to deal with Mario and Luigi.

Since it can fly, the Mega Snaptor cannot be hit by ground-based weaponry like the standard Hammer. The Mega Snaptor starts the battle by grabbing either Bro. with its talons (if it has a high-enough Speed). It will then fly by the other character multiple times, dropping rocks, springs, Mushrooms and the captured Bro. Rocks and the captured Bro. must be jumped over, while springs and Mushrooms bounce over the target. Mushrooms heal 30 HP and counterattacking the released character damages him. The Mega Snaptor will also extend its neck to peck at one of Bros., which requires the targeted Bro. to counterattack with his hammer. Likewise, the Mega Snaptor will fire tornadoes that the Bros. must jump over to avoid taking damage. This eventually requires Luigi Logic to fix the water pipes by connecting them, which can be done by stopping the pipes at the right time. If successful, Luigi will need to pull the level to open the pipe so that the water will erupt, which stuns the Mega Snaptor for a short while, rendering it vulnerable to ground-based weaponry and giving it a defense drop until the stun wears off. The Mega Snaptor can also peck at either Bro. without extending its neck, an attack that Mario or Luigi must counter by using his hammer several times.

When the Mega Snaptor is defeated, the Extension Corps prepare to escape, with one Snaptor carrying Ten and another carrying Shun. Ecks reveals to the Bros. and Snoutlet that the Extension Corps plan to work on mass production on Glohm, and the three manage to escape. The Mega Snaptor never appears again for the rest of the game.
