The Extension Corps is a group of lieutenants of Zokket's army, the Zok Troops, Zokket's right-hand minions, and the secondary antagonists of Mario & Luigi: Brothership . The trio consists of Ecks, Ten, and Shun.
History[edit ]
Ten is the first Extension Corps member to appear after Gorumbla's defeat on Rumbla Island. Having overseen the fight while hanging on to a flying Snaptor, Ten states that he will have to tell Ecks about the incident before flying off.
The Extension Corps members first appear together on the Great Lighthouse Island for Lushgreen Sea, in which they are seen getting Gobblick to consume several Spite Bulbs. The Mario Bros. and Connie soon arrive, and when Connie asks who they are, Shun begins to do so, but gets interrupted by Ten. Ecks then proposes a counteroffer and sends Gobblick to fight the Bros. before the three flee. After defeating Gobblick, the Bros. and Connie find Patriarc's first note, which says that the Extension Corps have been gathering the Spite Bulbs for their own reasons.
After the Bros. return to Shipshape Island, the Extension Corps inform Zokket about the Bros.' intrusion, with Ten stating he fed the Spite Bulbs to Gobblick. Zokket then tells the Extension Corps to use caution against the Mario Bros.
Mario and Luigi then encounter the Extension Corps again on Desolatt Island, where they are seen on the lighthouse sending several Snaptors to kidnap Concordians at Zokket's bidding. Ecks, Ten, and Shun then introduce themselves as the Extension Corps. Zokket appears, calling the group the "Exstinker Corps", "Exsqueeker Corps", and "Flunksqueezer Corps" before stating the name means nothing to him. After the Mario Bros. intervene, Zokket states he has elsewhere to be, and Ten offers to fight the Mario Bros. Zokket mispronounces Ten's name as "Toon" and disappears, Ecks call Ten the same name and flies off, and Shun gets carried off via a Snaptor. The Mario Bros. then battle Ten.
After Ten is defeated, he escapes via another Snaptor, dropping some Battle Plugs and a Power Tap. He soon lands back on the island, demanding that the Bros. return them to him as he was the one who found the items. A second battle against Ten begins, serving as a tutorial for the Battle Plugs. Realizing the power of the Battle Plugs, Ten flees the battle prematurely and flies off again.
The Bros. can further investigate Zokket's kidnappings once they return to Shipshape Island in the optional sidequest Zokket's Schemes, where they must travel to Minmin Islet on IDLE's behalf. There, they will find Zokket and the Extension Corps kidnapping more Concordians. Upon Snoutlet and the Bros. arriving, Zokket expresses his disappointment in the Extension Corps before revealing their plot is to gather Spite Bulbs and produce Glohm. He then tells the Extension Corps to kidnap more islanders, after which he disappears and the Extension Corps fly off via Snaptors.
The Extension Corps appear again on Lottacoins Island. If Princess Peach is the one to be kidnapped, a flashback plays in which they antagonize her once she is rescued. She recalls that she was informed about them by the Mario Bros., and when she asks them about their plans, Ecks initially dodges the question before being shocked at her link to the Mario Bros. Ten suggests using Peach to get at Mario and his group by taking her with them. Before they go on break at the Great Lighthouse Island in the Color-Full Sea, they send two Spike Zok Troopers to keep watch. The captive also explains that the Extension Corps took over the building to use it as a waystation for their army. After the captive finishes their explanation, the Extension Corps capture Ellow and take him to the roof of the Duplex Towers. Mario and Luigi arrive at the rooftop, with the other three members of IDLE following; Loog rushes toward the Extension Corps and punches Shun to no effect, and Shun knocks him away. When the Mario Bros. confront them, Ecks reveals that he is kidnapping people and making them work on Great Lighthouse Island as part of Zokket's scheme, but Shun interrupts him and tells him to keep his mouth shut. Ten then states that Ellow will one of the people working on Great Lighthouse Island, but sees that Ellow has returned with IDLE. Shocked that he has been outplayed, Ten shrugs the loss off before Ecks sends in a Mega Snaptor to fight the Bros. Once the Mega Snaptor is defeated, the Extension Corps hang from Snaptors as Ecks reveals they had many more captives on the building's top floor and that they are mass-producing Glohm on the Great Lighthouse Island, and the three fly off.
On the Great Lighthouse Island for the Color-Full Sea, the Extension Corps are encountered at the end, with Zokket telling them their plan to collect Glohm is going as planned. Ten mentions they will spread the Glohm everywhere. Mario, Luigi, and Connie arrive, to Ecks' shock. Ten asks how they were able to pass the barrier, and Shun starts to speak before Ecks interrupts him, saying the sound from before was a barrier breach. Ecks then states he will fight the Mario Bros. on Zokket's behalf, summoning Sharpcask. He then tells his boss to watch as they fight before Zokket vanishes. Shun starts speaking again before Ten interrupts and tells Ecks not to hold back. Ecks states that Sharpcask is filled with more Spite Bulbs than Gobblick, and the battle begins. During the battle against Sharpcask, Ecks can appear to boost the boss's POW and DEF stats.
Once Sharpcask is defeated, Ecks laments his loss before Snoutlet yells that it is Ecks' turn to be fought, to which he flees, leaving behind another Power Tap.
Over on Bulbfish Island, Mario and Luigi speak with the secret snatcher, who tells them that the Extension Corps arrived on the island the day of the Bulbfish egg theft. Later, the brothers encounter Ecks in the underground area, where he speaks with a Zokkarang Trooper. The Zokkarang Trooper reveals that the Zok Troops have performed Glohm-ray experiments on several of the islanders, to which Ecks states it will make a good report for Zokket. Ecks then proclaims that they will target Shipshape Island sooner or later. Mario and Luigi arrive, to which Ecks flees, tasking the Zokkarang Trooper to fight the Bros. in his stead.
Description[edit ]
Each member of the Extension Corps is based on a different type of electrical connector, which is reflected by their collective name, a pun on "extension cord". Ecks can float, is magenta in color and wears a yellow cape, with his face resembling an LAN/Ethernet connector. Ten resembles a headphone jack composed of his head resembling a male connector and one of his arms resembling a female connector. His design is invocative of a stereotypical delinquent in Japanese culture. The third one is named Shun whose body resembles a DVI/VGA connector.
The Extension Corps share many similarities to the Best Fitness Friends from the Bowser Jr.'s Journey side mode of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey ; both groups have a small flying member, Ecks and Kaley, a buff, powerful member, Shun and Beef, and a tall member who uses ranged attacks, Ten and Dieter.
The three members have a similar eye design to Antasma from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team , the Dark Star from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story , and Princess Shroob from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time .
Unlike other members of the Zok Troops who were artificially created, the Extension Corps existed prior to Zokket and were recruited by him on Slippenglide Island.

Notes[edit ]
- The Extension Corps, with Ten and Shun holding onto Snaptors, fly across the title screen when Fortress Zokket is shown on it.
- When Mario or Luigi counterattacked the Extension Corps, they physically confronted themselves and dealt their own damage, which is similar to how Wendy beats up Roy after the Bros. counterattacked Roy in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam .
