The Toad General is a minor character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie . He is a blue Toad sporting glasses and a bowtie and speaking in a deep voice. He takes command of the meeting in Peach's Castle, explaining and demonstrating with an interactive 3D map to Princess Peach that Bowser and his army have taken over the Snow Kingdom, and will soon target the Mushroom Kingdom. When Peach says that she will go to the Jungle Kingdom to seek the aid of the Kongs, the Toad General doubts that they will agree to an alliance. Peach later returns, revealing that the Koopas have captured the Kongs and that Mario is "gone". When she tells the Toads to evacuate before Bowser arrives, the Toad General does so.

The Toad General's appearance and role bear a strong resemblance to other Toads, such as Hint Toad, Toadbert, and Russ T. All four characters are blue Toads wearing glasses and are portrayed as being highly intelligent. Additionally, his outfit resembles Toadsworth's (who appears in early concept art for the film)[1] but with different colors.

In providing a voice suitable for the Toad General, Eric Bauza said the filmmakers wanted "a very serious guy with a very serious message to deliver. They said they didn't want a cartoony voice. We want something like Michael Ironside. Something terrifying!".[2]

The Toad General appears in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie , where he objects to Peach's plan to head to the Gateway Galaxy in search of Princess Rosalina, out of concern for her safety. After Peach leaves with Toad, he delivers a letter from her to Mario, which explains that she is entrusting the Mushroom Kingdom to Mario in her absence. Later, when Bowser Jr. attacks Peach's Castle, he is one of the Toads who run out of the castle into the water when it is being lifted by the UFO.[3]
