Birds of a Feather

When you visit the Hamlet of Marunweem you may encounter a woman sprinkling birdseed and talking about a special Diricawl known as "Gwyneira". The Marunweem resident, Marianne Moffett, explains that Gwnyneira is a local legend and that she fears that the Diricawl may fall victim to poachers. Though Marianne seems more concerned with claiming Gwyneira for herself than ensuring the creature's safety, she'll task you with capturing the rare bird.

In this Hogwarts Legacy guide, you'll learn how to start the Birds of a Feather Side Quest and you'll be provided detailed instructions that can help you rescue the legendary Diricawl, Gwyneira.

Birds of a Feather Side Quest

To begin the Birds of a Feather Side Quest, speak to Marianne Moffett in the Marunweem Hamlet. When you approach the area, you should notice a Side Quest marker indicating her location, but if you don't, Marianne can be found sprinkling birdseed on the southern side of town near the Hamlet Shop.

After speaking to Marianne, the Diricawl Den that you'll need to visit should be marked on your Map and if it's not, access your Quests menu and track the Birds of a Feather quest. This will lead you to a Diricawl Den in the Poidsear Coast region, as seen in the image above.

When you reach the Diricawl Den in the Poidsear Coast, open your Spells Menu and equip both Levioso and the Nab-Sack so you're prepared to capture Gwyneira. When you're ready, use Revelio to reveal the location of Gwyneira, the sole white Diricawl at this den.

Use Levioso and lift Gwyneira into the air to make the flightless bird easier to capture. Once Gwyneira the Diricawl is suspended in mid-air, quickly use your Nab-Sack to capture the creature.

With the magical creature rescued, head back to the Marunweem Hamlet and speak to Marianne to complete this quest!
