The Double Dice (formerly known as the Double Dice Set and Double Dice Block) is an item in the Mario Party series first appearing in Mario Party DS . As the name suggests, the item allows the player to roll two Dice Blocks (2-20 spaces). The effect is similar to the Mushroom, Mushroom Orb, and Twice Candy from past games.

History[edit ]

Mario Party DS[edit ]

In Mario Party DS, the Double Dice Set can be bought in the item shop for three coins. A Double Dice Set is almost always available in the item shop. Rolling a matching pair of numbers will give the player 10 coins. Two 7's will award 30 coins. This item is also very common when the player is in first place. Nearly every computer player that goes to the item shop will purchase a Double Dice Set.

Mario Party 10[edit ]

The Double Dice Block appears as a special Dice Block in Mario Party 10 . Here, the Double Dice Block can only roll from 1 to 6 — as with normal Dice Blocks — and the player gets no coin bonus for rolling two of the same number. The Double Dice Block can appear if the player stops on a Special Dice Block Space.

Mario Party: Star Rush / Mario Party: The Top 100[edit ]

The Double Dice Block returns in Mario Party: Star Rush and Mario Party: The Top 100 , albeit renamed to Double Dice; it functions the same as it did in Mario Party 10. In Toad Scramble, the two Dice Blocks used are those of the current leader (e.g. if Toadette is the leader, two Cutie Dice Blocks are rolled). This item is the default item for amiibo characters if they do not have Mario Party 10 data saved on them.

Mario Party Superstars[edit ]

The Double Dice also returns in Mario Party Superstars . Its function is nearly identical to its appearance in Mario Party DS, except rolling two "7's" now only awards 10 coins instead of 30. It costs 5 Coins in the shop.

Super Mario Party Jamboree[edit ]

The Double Dice returns in Super Mario Party Jamboree with the same function as it had in Mario Party Superstars. During the Homestretch, if Party Rules are being played, it is possible for there to be an option of all four players receiving Double Dice. A stronger variant, known as Payday Double Dice, also exists, and works just like Double Dice, except that the player also receives the number of coins equivalent to the total roll shown.

If Pro Rules are being played, a player can choose to get Double Dice if they land on a Lucky Space.

In Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV , if Frenzy Rules are being played, all players begin the game with Double Dice in their inventory.[1]
