Loadstone
Description
A rock that can't be discarded until it's used. It's rumored to be valuable...
Appears in Super Mario Party Jamboree (2024)
Effect Receive 2 coins upon use, receive 20 coins when taken to Whomp's Thrift Store.

The Loadstone is an item in Super Mario Party Jamboree . It is a dark gray rock with an inscription of two coins on it. It can only be obtained on the Unlucky Space event "Max out on Loadstones", which fills all empty spots in the player's inventory with Loadstones.

Unlike other items, Loadstones cannot be removed from inventory via replacing them with another item, taking up available inventory space. To get rid of one, the player must spend a turn using it (thus preventing them from using any other item), which grants them two coins. However, if a Loadstone is taken to Whomp's Thrift Store in Rainbow Galleria, he can buy it from the player for 20 coins.

Loadstones can be stolen from another player with a Plunder Chest or copied by Yoshi as a Jamboree Buddy. Doing so will trigger the same sad animation and music as obtaining one naturally. If the receiver's inventory is full, they will be forced to discard something other than the new Loadstone.[1] If this cannot be done because the entire inventory is Loadstones, the new Loadstone can (and must) be discarded; this is the only way to discard one.[2]

Ending a game with a Loadstone in inventory will grant the "Heavy Pockets" achievement.

Naming[edit ]

"Loadstone" is a play on "lodestone", a naturally magnetized mineral, and "load".
