Mario charging up the Charge Jump

The Charge Jump is a technique introduced in Mario Kart World . By holding down the drift button while driving straight, the player can charge up a Charge Jump in a similar way to a drift. After the sparks appear, the button can then be released to initiate a Charge Jump in a similar fashion to a trick. After the jump, the player is granted a small speed boost similar to a Mini-Turbo. As the jump is charged, the sparks will be blue, then yellow, then rainbow, with longer charges giving a longer speed boost. The sparks will only turn rainbow if Smart Steering is off. Once the Charge Jump has been performed, the player can then also trick off of objects as well as initiate a Wall Ride or Rail Ride.[1] Steering is limited while a player is charging the jump while on paved roads or off-road while increasing when on the surface of water. They are also slowed down, so Charge Jumping repeatedly does not make them go faster, even on water. The player can also charge up a Charge Jump while driving in reverse; while performing a Charge Jump in reverse, the player will turn 180 degrees during the jump, landing whilst facing the reverse side.

    • English:
If you hold A Button (Single Joy-Con Right Button) and then R Button and continue to drive straight, you'll create sparks under your tires. If you then tilt Left Stick in a direction and release R Button, you can do a small jump in that direction.
    • Other languages:
      • French:
Si vous maintenez A Button (Single Joy-Con Right Button) puis R Button en conduisant tout droit, vos roues produiront des étincelles.
