Effect Pokey Shot

The Pokey Racket is a Fever Racket in Mario Tennis Fever . It is unlocked after clearing Rank A in the game's Adventure mode. The racket overall resembles a Pokey. It is tan-colored and its shaft is made up of two spiky balls. The racket's head is shaped like a Pokey's, more circular than regular rackets and with various flat spikes around it. The racket's net is also colored and features Pokey's face on it. When fully charged, the racket glows.

Fever Shot[edit ]

The Pokey Racket's Fever Shot is called the Pokey Shot. When activated, it transforms the ball into a Pokey segment, and the shot deals damage in a small circular area where the ball lands while also summoning a Pokey. The number of segments of the Pokey is determined by how long the ball was hit back and forth without touching the ground, from a minimum of four up to eight segments (counting the head). The Pokey moves left and right across the court, and falls apart if hit by the ball or a player. When that happens, the Pokey's segments can fall on both sides of the court, as well as out of play. Touching the Pokey or its segments on the court deals damage, makes the player trip, and causes the segment to disappear. Hitting the segments with the ball also makes them disappear. Otherwise, the Pokey or its segments disappear on their own after a while.
