Relatives

Honebon[1] are enemies in Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins . These skeletal fish are said to be reborn from the gathered spirits of Cheep Cheeps,[2] and their undead nature makes them nearly indestructible. Honebon appears alone and swims around a small territory, moving in a large upside-down V motion, especially in confined spaces. It can be defeated only by using a Star or a Koopa Shell. Honebon are encountered in the Macro Zone's Fireplace Course, and the Turtle Zone's Sunken Ship Course and Whale Course.

Ghost of a fish with a puckered mouth

A fish ghost swims with big black eyes and a pouting mouth. It swims slowly in a zigzag pattern while moving its tail. This one is a ghost and cannot be defeated even with fire. Let's just get away from it.

Names in other languages[edit ]

Unlike most mainline Super Mario titles, Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins did not receive officially localized enemy indexes at the time of its release on the Game Boy and not all enemies are listed in its instruction booklets. Consequentially, most available non-Japanese names come from localizations of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia . Some of these names were previously and subsequently used for other skeletal enemies.
