Birdfish[1] are enemies found in the Bubble Course in Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins . Much like Cheep Cheeps, they jump out of a body of water and attack anything in their way. However, Birdfish glide in the air a bit longer than Cheep Cheeps, using their wings to fly through the air. To defeat a Birdfish, Mario can jump or throw a fireball at it.

Naming[edit ]

Unlike most mainline Super Mario titles, Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins did not receive officially localized enemy indexes at the time of its release on the Game Boy and not all enemies are listed in its instruction booklets. Consequentially, most available non-Japanese names come from localizations of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia . The English version of the book refers to this enemy by its Japanese name "Toriuo",[3] which had been used on the Super Mario Wiki fan website from 2013 to 2022.

Names in other languages[edit ]

Language Name Meaning Note(s) Ref.
