Set policies for how users add or create data sources from third-party connectors

In the Google Admin console, you can control whether users can add data sources from third-party — that is, non-Google — connectors by following these steps:

  1. In the Google Admin console, go to Menu and then Apps and then Additional Google services and then Data Studio.

Requires having the Data Studio administrator privilege.

  2. Select the Features card to expand the configuration options.
  3. Select Third Party Settings.
  4. By default, all non-Google connectors will be allowed. Check the Disable new non-Google data source connectors box to prevent users from adding data sources from non-Google connectors.
  5. Select Save.

Apps Script required

To view data in a chart that is based on a community connector, Apps Script must be enabled for your organization. When Apps Script is disabled, community connectors can't fetch data and you'll see an error in the chart.

You can turn Apps Script on and off in the Admin console.
