Using SSL / Secure Pages for Drupal

Posted by sclapp on July 14, 2011 at 4:45pm

Is anyone out there using SSL for secure logins on their Drupal installation? I'm trying to test the use of SSL in conjunction with CAS / Secure Pages to see if it works for us, but I'm running into configuration troubles on my Acquia DAMP stack, which I use for testing (on a Win PC). I think the issue may be as basic as being at the OpenSSL or Apache level, but I'm not sure. It looks like php was built with openssl enabled in the Acquia stack (per phpinfo).

Crear un evento de usuarios de Drupal

Posted by belavida on July 11, 2011 at 3:45pm

Use ISBNs to pull in book data from other websites

Posted by Hanscraft on July 9, 2011 at 10:59pm

I am creating a site which will basically be an annotated bibliography of resources related to the subject matter. As part of this work, I would like to have a way for people to input ISBNs and have Drupal "call" to another site to get data about the book.

Do you have any suggestions on how to do this? I am using Drupal 7.

Online journal: MARC or Qualified DC

Posted by dakke on June 7, 2011 at 12:09pm

Hi,

Simply to position myself a bit: I am aware of the various standards in the archival world (MARC, ISAD, ISAAR...), but for this project I need to describe records of a journal. The fields are the usual:
- Author
-- Name
-- Email
-- Telephone

  • Article
    -- Title
    -- Author
    -- Bodytext
    -- Issue ref
    -- Pages

Issue
-- Title
-- Publisher
-- Year
-- Number

DrupalCamp BOF

Posted by sledden on May 17, 2011 at 2:40am

Do we have to reserve one of the BOF rooms before DrupalCamp? If so, how do we go about doing that? We want to organize some Library BOF action.

Drupal Listservs and Drupal Commons

Posted by NewDrupalUser on May 4, 2011 at 5:22pm

My organization is looking at developing a listserv that integrates with our Drupal website, and which has a fairly user-friendly interface, as well as an archive and search function. We are also considering whether Drupal Commons might be a solution for implementing the listserv. One difficulty is finding sample listservs and websites that can help us think about functionality and design. Would anyone know of sample sites using Drupal listservs? Thank you!

Number of hours left on a drupal project

Posted by sclapp on April 28, 2011 at 6:54pm

I'm not going to lie - it's taking me a lot long to complete our sites' migration to Drupal than I ever would've expected. We're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but it's still a ways off. The problem - I need help!
The good news - the possibility of getting a Drupal firm on contract with the state at some point to get some professional consulting. The bad news, I need to figure out a reasonable estimate of how long it would take a pro to do the following:

Checking out a book.

Posted by justingeeslin on April 21, 2011 at 6:22pm

Hi All,

What modules can you recommend for allowing the checking out of books on a library site?

Is there an obvious answer for this?

Thanks.

Web File Manager module and batch file upload?

Posted by jsomerfield on April 19, 2011 at 1:59pm

I am new to Drupal and am working on a test site. I like the concept of the Web File Manager, but cannot find a way to do batch file uploads of images and documents. Is this possible? Our current library website has hundreds of files that need to be transferred. I'm hoping not one at a time.

Thanks.

Test Site Best Practices

Posted by trista13 on April 18, 2011 at 3:39pm

I have my production site just about ready to go (Yay!) but, I would like to have a test site for updating modules, etc. Ideally, I would have a completely separate site either hosted or locally to play with, but I have yet to get a local site working well and I don't have the budget to pay for two sites hosted. Bluehost said I could just make a folder called test and move a complete Drupal install there and then my test site would be domainname.com/test. I have some ideas about doing this, but if anyone has done this before, I would love some ideas on how to best accomplish this.

Module for themable search and metasearch for Z39.50, SRU and SOLR targets via Pazpar2

Posted by skomorokh on April 15, 2011 at 9:01pm

At Index Data I've lately been working on a Drupal module for Pazpar2 (http://www.indexdata.com/pazpar2), our XML webservice based metasearch engine. Check it out in the git sandbox (http://drupal.org/sandbox/skomorokh/1103554) I've created (D6 for now but a D7 branch is on its way). While very much under development, basic functionality is all there and it would be great to get feedback as I polish it for release.

Archiving obsolete materials created in Drupal

Posted by post-it2011 on April 14, 2011 at 1:36pm

What is the best way to archive documents created and used in a Drupal intranet? I work for an NGO that is setting up their intranet using the drupal platform, and we are organizing our materials using "documents" under each "group". These documents are office policies, forms, etc. They are updated every year or so. We would like our employees to have access to the old versions while being able to identify the most current iterations of these documents.

Site Migration FAIL

Posted by trista13 on April 13, 2011 at 8:40pm

I'm attempting to migrate my functioning Drupal site from one host to another. I have tried several different methods (importing the database, then loading the files; using their Drupal install and then loading my database; cursing at the computer) and all have given me different error messages that seem to be at the database level. I have changed sites/default/settings.php to reflect the new database information. The error seems to always come from something called the lock.ini file. I've looked around online and talked with the new hosting company for a bit, but have not had any luck.

Creating WARC index for Exlibris Primo harvesting of Drupal website

Posted by richardhayward on March 28, 2011 at 2:19am

I'm interested to hear if there are any libraries with experience in creating WARC indexes from their Drupal websites. From what I read in the Exlibris Primo documentation WARC indexes are required so that Primo can harvest the website data and include in its search capability. Have you done this for your library website / library catalogue search?

Google Analytics or something else?

Posted by trista13 on March 16, 2011 at 6:23pm

I'm fairly new to Drupal, but have created some sites before. In the past, I typically used Google Analytics to monitor the site traffic and noticed that there is a Google Analytics module, but I was wondering what others thought of it and if there might be a better solution with a Drupal site.

Thanks!

Need help with php insert

Posted by vfranklyn on March 14, 2011 at 10:05pm

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone out there can help out a php newbie. I'm trying to add a snippet of code to the bottom of a tpl.php file for a block view. The code I'm trying to add is this:

<p>
Click the title of this post to view comments.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://ppld.org/comment/reply/5865#comment-form">Add a new comment</a>
</p>

where "5865" is the node id. I don't know how to make that a variable in php on a tpl.php file. Any help is greatly appreciated!
