Libraries

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

This group is for libraries - public, academic, school, law, what-have-you. It is not about code libraries.
Ask questions and/or tell us what your library or organization is up to.

Please add your library to our Drupal libraries roster

What do you want at the next Libraries Summit?

Posted by jwineichen on September 24, 2019 at 6:06pm

Based on the success of the first Libraries Summit at this past DrupalCon, there's going to be one next year at DrupalCon Minneapolis 2020 as well!

The planning team has started meeting and we're looking for your input on what sessions we should have. In Seattle, we had great sessions talking about topics like decoupling and content management, as well as some meaningful breakout sessions on topics like security, accessibility, and events management. So what should we have in Minneapolis?

Posted by jwineichen on October 11, 2018 at 3:50pm

There's going to be a Libraries Summit at DrupalCon Seattle!

We've started brainstorming and planning but we want your ideas too. Is there a topic you're particularly interested in? A module or 3rd-party integration you think would be a great demo/workshop? A cool project you've heard about or were involved with that might make a great case study? I'd love to hear them.

Your Library experience with Drupal cloud-based hosting

Posted by neenaw on May 13, 2016 at 7:45pm

Hello everyone,

I am a new comer to this group, since i did not know about the existence of this Drupal- Libraries group until attended a BOF session at Drupalcon New Orleans this week.

My Library is currently looking into the possibility of moving to Acquia or Panthenon to host our drupal sites because we do not have DevOps engineer nor server administrators, and most likely would not have the resource to recruit one.

My questions to you would be that:
Are you library using a cloud-based hosting? If you, what is your overall experience?

Thanks in advance!

Neena

Drupal 7 node titles - symbols convert to html entities in Zen sub-theme

Posted by vfranklyn on December 3, 2015 at 6:54pm

Hi there. I have a problem with D7. My node titles are converting some symbols to html entities. IE: '&' is converted to '&' etc. This happens on all content types and regardless of whether I'm using automatic node titles. Here's a few examples:

A quick heads-up that I've just added a Birds of a Feather session at DrupalCon Barcelona, to discuss Drupal for GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives & Museums). If anyone with interest or experience in using Drupal for this is going to be there next week, it'd be great to see you there.

Problem with SQL statement in Views D7

Posted by vfranklyn on September 14, 2015 at 8:36pm

Hi there, I'm hoping a SQL ninja will find it in his or her heart to provide me with some advice.

I've created a page view which does the following:

  1. Pulls in nodes from two different content types
  2. Filters by two different term references, one for each content type.

It's not working, although in my mind (and limited sql understanding), it should. I think maybe there's an issue with the inner joins, because it seems the sql statement would working if they weren't there.

Anyways, I've attached two images, one of the api and one of the actual sql statement.

Using Drupal as a Digital Library System

Posted by idioma on September 4, 2015 at 11:13pm

Hi,
I have just gotten involved in a Digital Library project for which we are considering to use Drupal. I have started looking through the existing digital library projects using Drupal and wondered which distro is best suited for our current requirements. We have started off with a small set of bibliographic data (around 1500) correlated with images (for manuscripts and books) of which some are provided with full text search capabilities via an implementation of the IA BookReader (https://openlibrary.org/dev/docs/bookreader).
