Which CMS-es do you compete with?

Posted by michel van velde on June 21, 2017 at 8:19pm

Pitches, don't we love 'em. Many times we are in competition with other CMS-es. Personally, i often hear Sitecore for the larger enterprise solutions and WordPress for the generic publishing platforms. Every now and then we come across Typo3 (especially in Germany). Which CMS-es do you encounter in pitches and what are your compelling 'selling' arguments to choose for Drupal?

Idea: annual competition to design the Drupal Association t-shirt

Posted by damienmckenna on June 14, 2012 at 3:27pm

While discussing membership renew with the DA twitter account I had an idea: I'd love to have an annual renewal on my membership for the t-shirt offer that was added last year; however, rather than ending up with a dozen identical t-shirts, how about running an annual competition to have the forthcoming year's design?

Libraryhack 2011 - Ideas Competition

Posted by richardhayward on March 3, 2011 at 11:25pm

Have you got a great suggestion for a new and innovative way to use library data but maybe not the technical skills to bring that idea to life? Submit an idea for an application or data mashup to be eligible for this prize. Your idea might then be developed by someone else as an application or mashup as part of Libraryhack. For inspiration have a look at the list of data sets to be made available by the participating libraries and from February 8, submit an idea. You can enter as many times as you like.

Keep an eye on your competition

Hey folks,
Check out this cool tool which allows you to compare your site to your competitor:
http://blekko.com/ws/www.joomla.org+/compare?c=www.drupal.org
You can quickly compare inbound links, top inbound sites by host rank, and more.

This tool does a lot more than this but I just had to share.

This came across the WebGrrls mailing list, and is probably of interest to Drupalers too.

(from the press release:)

The concept is simple: national teams compete against each other to build website in 24 hrs, putting national pride and web prowess to the test.
And the real winners of the competitions? The not-for-profit organisation who is presented with a stunning, fully functional website.
