The Initial Scoping Report considers Indonesia’s environmental, socio-economic, regulatory and institutional context and the challenges and opportunities for Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) implementation. Scoping provides the basis to identify the opportunities, risks, and impacts (positive and negative) associated with the retirement of coal-fired power plants (CFPPs) and associated infrastructure (including mine closures and supply chains), and the development of options for new renewable energy generation and associated infrastructure.
