Strengthening Results-Based Lending for Programs: Policy Paper
This paper proposes updating the 2019 results-based lending (RBL) policy based on a systematic analysis of the utilization and performance of the RBL modality, including the program teams’ and developing member countries’ (DMCs) experiences.
The proposed updated policy reflects strategic policy-related changes that address identified gaps and challenges to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and attractiveness of using the modality. This paper also lays out the envisaged actions to be undertaken by management to complement the updated policy. It highlights the changes in the updated policy compared with the 2019 RBL policy, and summarizes the policy changes and management actions.
