Environmental and Social Framework
This framework sets out how ADB and its borrowers and clients need to protect people and the environment from projects’ potential adverse impacts.
It includes the bank’s environmental and social policy, a set of performance standards, requirements for different financing modalities and products, and a list of prohibited investment activities. The framework affirms that environmental and social sustainability is a cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in Asia and the Pacific.
