Item #: SCP-522-FR
Threat Level: Green ●くろまる
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-522-FR must be kept in a standard storage locker at Site Kybian and only removed during tests organised by the Division for the Study of Islean Culture and History.
Staff wishing to handle SCP-522-FR are to contact the Division for the Study of Islean Culture and History.
Description: SCP-522-FR is the designation of a triangular prism made of a material similar to amber and originating from Nx-012 ("Univers'Isle"). The contours of the object are covered with a thin layer of gold on which symbols linked to GoI-842-C ("The Church of the Celestial Vault"), which previously owned SCP-522-FR, have been engraved.
Unlike non-anomalous prisms, SCP-522-FR cannot split white light into beams of different colours. However, when a beam of light is emitted through SCP-522-FR, it is able to pass through any living being. In human subjects, if the beam is directed at the heart, three elements partially block the light. These can be seen if a support is placed behind the subject so that the light is projected onto it (see Fig 1.1). These three elements have no physical existence and are systematically arranged in an equilateral triangle, representing the constitution of human beings according to most monotheistic religions:
- The body, located at the bottom left of the triangle, represented by a silhouette of the subject with a solid outline and an empty interior.
- The spirit, located at the bottom right of the triangle, represented by a silhouette of the subject with dotted outlines and an empty interior.
- The soul, located at the top of the triangle, represented by a silhouette of the subject with no outline and with filled interior.
From one subject to another, the distance separating the elements in the triangle is different. According to the documents recovered from the site where SCP-522-FR was found, the greater the distance between the elements, the more the subject aspires to debauchery from a moral point of view and has strayed from divine faith. Conversely, the closer the elements are, the more the subject aspires to asceticism and shows great faith.
Addendum 522-FR.1: Memorandum regarding GoI-842-C
Fig 1.2 : Cross of the Isle, symbol of GoI-842-C
"The Church of the Celestial Vault" (GoI-842-C) is an anomalous religious organisation rooted in christianism, which represents the clergy of the Kingdom of Univers'Isle (GoI-842).
Central to the church's theology is the belief that God greatly weakened himself in creating the universe and that, to recover his strength, he divided himself into souls, which he placed in each human being. The purpose of human beings is to accumulate knowledge and experience in order to perfect their souls and make them stronger for God. The Isleans would then have the divine mission of ensuring, in the absence of God, that the souls that ascend to heaven are pure.
The church believes that 21st century man has strayed from the divine faith and no longer seeks to improve himself, thus perverting God by bringing him impertinent souls. As a result, earthlings are considered harmful. The Church of the Celestial Vault is divided into three schools of thought, each approaching the problem of the perversion of God in a different way:
- Annihilism (GoI-842-CA), which considers that the Kingdom of Univers'Isle must declare war on Earth in order to impose its laws and subdue the Earthlings as quickly as possible.
- Expectativism (GoI-842-CB), which believes that humanity is in the process of bringing about its own decline and that the Kingdom of Univers'Isle will soon be able to reclaim the Earth without violence.
- Completism (GdI-842-CC), which believes that the Earth should be integrated into Univers'Isle. Their followers teleport terrestrial locations in pocket dimensions to Univers'Isle with the aim of bringing the Earth back in the long term. Their followers are actively sought after by the followers of Annihilism, Expectativism and the Islean authorities because of the illegal nature of teleporting profane places to the Universe Island, which is considered a holy place.
The Church of the Celestial Vault always seems to orientate its theology towards the inferiorisation of earthlings, so that Isleans believe they live in a better society in the Kingdom of Univers'Isle.
Addendum 522-FR.2: History
SCP-522-FR was recovered from an abandoned flat in Mantes-la-Jolie, France, which had been used as an Islean outpost before it was discovered. This outpost was used by followers of Annihilism protected by members of the Islean army for the purpose of testing SCP-522-FR on various Earth subjects. Numerous restraint and measurement tools, coloured filters, documents on how the object worked and Islean foodstuffs were found on site.
According to the documents in which the results of the use of SCP-522-FR on Isleans are mentioned, a fourth element appears when the object is used on them. This fourth element takes the form of an Eye of Providence. It is located at the centre of the triangle formed by the other three elements. The Isleans see the presence of this element as further proof that they are divinely chosen.
Information about SCP-522-FR's past was obtained thanks to several exchanges of information with desilist Isleans. Before coming into the possession of the annihilist vaulters, SCP-522-FR belonged to the expectativist vaulters of the region of Sillage, in the Kingdom of Univers'Island. This change of ownership was due to the repopulation of the region of Sillage, known for having historically gathered more expectativists than annihilists, by inhabitants of the regions of Agrieux and Pentocle, known for being predominantly annihilist.
It seems that when the annihilists reappropriated the object, some of them began to see SCP-522-FR as a tool for sorting earthlings according to the distance between their body, soul and spirit.
Addendum 522-FR.3: Test Log
Several tests have been carried out by the Foundation to better understand the effects of SCP-522-FR and compare the distances separating the elements for various living beings. For a full list of results, please contact the Tactical Theology Office.

No shape resembling an Eye of Providence appears among the elements mentioned above. Another group of desilists has been commissioned by the Foundation to obtain more information about the nature of SCP-522-FR by investigating Nx-012 directly.
Addendum 522-FR.5: Islean letter
The tasked group of desilists managed to recover from the archives of the Sillage church a letter from Etienne Langlais, who was in charge of the church when it was still an expectativist one.
Dear friend,
I appreciate your latest contribution to the church. This crystalline jewellery is a real godsend in these times. There are many who doubt and believe they can find refuge in the futile thought of a return to the worldlings. But nay!
Trinket were it only artistic! Your jewel can restore faith in the celestial destiny that was assigned to us! Yes. I was amazed to see earlier that any object placed in front of the light sender can make shapes appear alongside the famous motifs.
You merely need to make small stained glass windows that will allow us to see our raison d'être with a clear eye. Yet another motif through stained glass windows that we would place in front of the jewel's light sender. In this way, during the great demonstrations on the captured worldlings, we would remove this stained-glass window to expose their obvious vileness.
What do you say?
— Étienne Langlais
Research is now underway into the nature of the coloured filters recovered from the site where SCP-522-FR was found.
