International Index of Mobile Task Forces

Mobile Task Forces (MTFs) are elite units comprised of personnel drawn from across the Foundation, and are mobilized to deal with specific threats or situations that sometimes exceed the operational capacity or expertise of regular field personnel. As their name suggests, they may be relocated between facilities or locations as needed. Mobile Task Forces under the command of different branches of the Foundation are listed in the pages linked below.

English-Speaking Mobile Task Forces

The Parent Foundation has a large number of Task Forces deployed worldwide, mostly (but not exclusively) designated with a Greek letter and a number, for example MTF Beta-7 ("Maz Hatters") or MTF Epsilon-6 ("Village Idiots").

Chinese Mobile Task Forces

The Chinese Branch of the Foundation's Mobile Task Forces, when not using the same naming system as the Parent Foundation, are designated with a combination of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch (used in the traditional Chinese calendar), for example MTF-庚卯-91 ("Phantom of the Opera") or MTF-癸巳-01 ("A Moment Shorter Than Planck Time").

French Mobile Task Forces

The French Branch of the Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are designated using the same system as the Parent Foundation, with a Greek letter and a number, for example MTF Delta-4 ("Safari Time!") or MTF Phi-16 ("The Broken Jars").

Polish Mobile Task Forces

The Polish Branch of the Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are designated using the same system as the Parent Foundation, with a Greek letter and a number, for example MTF Theta-2 ("Kindergarten Teachers") or MTF Rho-4 ("Church Choir").

Italian Mobile Task Forces

The Italian Branch of the Foundation employs three types of task force: standard SSM Squads (abbreviation of Squadre Speciali Mobili, meaning Special Mobile Squads), covert SIR Squads (abbreviation of Sezione Ispettorato e Ricerca, meaning Intelligence and Research Section), and internal SPeV Squads (abbreviation of Sezione Protezione e Vigilanza, meaning Protection and Surveillance Section). Each task force is designated with the appropriate abbreviation plus a Roman numeral.

Spanish-Speaking Mobile Task Forces

The Spanish-speaking Branch of the Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are designated using the same system as the Parent Foundation, with a Greek letter and a number, for example MTF-Dzeta-8 "Desperta Ferro" and MTF Mi-5 "Pro Gamers". Note that Spanish spelling and pronunciation of Greek letters differs from English.

Germanophone Mobile Task Forces

The Germanophone Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are usually only deployed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. German MTFs are designated with a number, typically the DE Site they are based in, and a letter in Gothic Script, for example MTF-DE1-H (1-Heinrich, "HAL 1000") or MTF-DE4-K (4-Karl, "PSI-CORPS").

Ukrainian Mobile Task Forces

The Ukrainian Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are designated with letters from the Glagolitic Script, for example MTF Glagoli ("Rachnids & Triffids") or MTF Zemlja ("Grandpa Mushrooms").

Lusophone Mobile Task Forces

The Lusophone Foundation's Mobile Task Forces are designated PT plus a number and a Greek letter, for example PT47-ε ("Children of Leshii") or PT15-Σ ("Serket's Stinger").
