Primary SCP-100-PIG testing facility, circa 1959.
Item #: SCP-100-PIG
Object Class: Radix
Special Containment Procedures: A testing facility, Site Roar, has been established nearby SCP-100-PIG, while a specialized testing building has been constructed within the boundaries of the anomaly itself. As with standard Foundation facility protocols, a fenced perimeter surrounds the SCP-100-PIG exclusion zone, with all information available from mundane sources claiming it to be government property.
Due to its nature, testing within SCP-100-PIG is to only take place with approval from personnel with Level 3/100-PIG clearance or higher.
Description: SCP-100-PIG is a large area, measuring 45,000 cubic meters, located in the outskirts of Bavaria, Germany. While otherwise mundane in both appearance and natural functions, SCP-100-PIG is remarkable for its status as the only point on the planet which is incapable of sustaining any Heinlein radiation within its confines. Due to this, human subjects are invariably incapable of properly perceiving time while within SCP-100-PIG. This effect does not extend to time itself; time flows naturally within SCP-100-PIG.
Due to a failure to properly percieve time on a fundamental level, subjects, unless informed otherwise of its passage, are capable of operating as if unaffected by it within SCP-100-PIG. However, the effects of the passage of time still apply. For example, a subject is able to exercise for several consecutive hours within SCP-100-PIG without feeling that they are tired or in pain, as they do not recognize how long they have been exercising, but they are still susceptible to fainting from exhaustion upon their body being pushed beyond its limit.
SCP-100-PIG was discovered following Project Hermes, an effort which began following initial study of SCP-001 to locate more "Blind Spots" of various anomalous and mundane categories of radiation. During this effort, documentation sourced from various historical clockmakers and horological experts detailing an area in which time "did not flow" were unearthed, eventually leading to its current position within Foundation containment.

On Time
Time has always been a manmade construct.
Put simply, time exists because we as humanity put a significant amount of emphasis upon it. We imprinted the conformity to a strict system because it was useful to us, something we could all get behind, and so it imprinted itself back. Thusly, time can now exert itself as a concrete force of existence, so long as we mandate said existence as a collective force. It is through this feedback loop that those capable of manipulating or accurately tracking time gain their strength.
Now, I should create an important distinction — time, as we now understand it, has always flowed. It was how our specific understanding of time which imprinted itself. In other words, the idea of a "second" or "minute" is now natural, unchanging law, whereas before time had previously remained unaffected by such things. It flowed, but without category, without separation, and without rules. These rules were imprinted upon it by us, and are now ones we must follow.
I’ve often heard it said by those in the Temporal Anomalies Department that "time is a box". I would not say that. Or, well, rather, I believe that phrase is not descriptive enough. Time is not just a box, it is a containment chamber, one that encompasses the entirety of consensus reality, one of our own making, and one we do not want to leave.
Time is the most effective set of containment procedures ever devised, and they were not even enacted with that intention.
Heinlein Radiation
Heinlein radiation, named after the clockmaker considered to be the inventor of the watch, Peter Heinlein, is a form of radiation correlated with the perception of time. Specifically, areas in which time is properly percieved possesses levels of ambient Heinlein radiation, with the amount increasing the more accurately time can be percieved within a location. Due to this, all timepieces give off Heinlein radiation when active, with the amount increasing the more accurate said timepiece is.
As adoption of the modern time system has become almost universal, there are natural levels of ambient Heinlein radiation in all areas across the planet, apart from SCP-100-PIG. All Foundation attempts to artificially remove Heinlein radiation from an area have failed. Presumably, if human understanding of time was to be eliminated, so to would all levels of Heinlein radiation.
The origin of SCP-100-PIG's ability to restrict all Heinlein radiation within its confines remains unclear, but continues to be under significant Foundation investigation.

Testing Logs
SCP-100-PIG TESTING LOGS
Test #: 01
Subject: D-1982
Process: Subject was instructed to run on a treadmill until they felt tired, with no Foundation intervention.
Results: After five consecutive hours, the subject collapsed of exhaustion naturally.
Test #: 03
Subject: D-1665
Process: Subject was instructed to run on a treadmill until they felt tired. After two hours of the subject running, they were informed the amount of time that had passed.
Results: Subject reported feelings of intense exhaustion.
Test #: 07
Subject: D-2189
Process: Subject was instructed to run on a treadmill until they felt tired. After three hours of the subject running, they were informed they had only been running for a single hour.
Results: Subject reported a mild headache, but appeared to believe the amount of time had passed.
Test #: 12
Subject: D-2307
Process: Subject was instructed to run on a treadmill until they felt tired. After several minutes of the subject running, they were informed they had been running for 278 consecutive hours.
Results: Subject suddenly suffered an extreme brain hemorrhage, likely unable to properly ascertain the situation.

INCIDENT 100-PIG.1
Excavation of land within SCP-100-PIG in order to expand its primary testing facility led to the discovery of a small, subterranean outpost possessing what was eventually recognized to be archaic Foundation iconography. Little of interest was located within this facility apart from the presence of a singular DEEPWELL archive integrated into its systems.
Decryption and subsequent examination of the archive later led to the discovery of [DATA EXPUNGED], further leading to the following points of current investigation regarding its contents:
- The source for the widespread alteration of humanity's collective time perception ███ years ago;
- Any known methods through which the previous point could have been feasibly achieved without Foundation intervention or knowledge;
- If any other locations besides SCP-100-PIG still allow for the true, proper perception of time;
- The identity of the "Department of Abnormalities".
