Item #: SCP-067-VN
Object Class: Safe
SCP-067-VN by the time of discovery
Special Containment Procedure: SCP-067-VN is currently contained within a padded marine biological containment unit of Site-280-VN. The bedding pad and water will be changed weekly. The residing water of SCP-067-VN is to be maintained in a saline ratio of 1.5 3 5 ppt, with changes reflecting the object's behaviour. Every abnormal behavioural action of the object is to be reported to the nearest containment personnel, and the conditions of SCP-067-VN are to be adjusted until the mentioned behaviour ceases.
Description: SCP-067-VN is the destination of an anomalous Trichopodus pectoralis (snakeskin gourami), characterised by the behaviour of ejecting out of fresh water. SCP-067-VN often headed for the nearest accessible body of salt water (usually the sea), although it is currently unclear how the object navigates and measures the distances between bodies of water. External effects, such as the environment, winds, force fields, or temperature, cannot obstruct this characteristic.
SCP-067-VN express exceptional survival and regenerative ability to thrive outside their usual environmental conditions. However, SCP-067-VN can still be damaged by physical force, often from collisions of ejecting from its containment unit. SCP-067-VN is observed to be unable to withstand one saltwater condition for a prolonged period.
SCP-067-VN has been discovered to thrive in water with a low saline count and a brackish nature. Within brackish water, SCP-067-VN is observed to be stabilised, although still exhibiting ejecting behaviour after a range of time. Experiments of increasing the saline rate and redesigning the containment unit have provided a more stable containment procedure, which is to be extended until the item can be transported to the Site's saltwater area.
Although troublesome to contain, personnel assigned to SCP-067-VN often expressed joy and excitement while caring for the anomaly. It is still unclear whether this is an anomalous effect from the item. For this reason, experiments conducted on the item are to be joined by a large group of personnel to ensure the efficiency of the experiments.
"Then, it may see the sea again."
