A Star Candy is a orange star-shaped consumable in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey . In the original game, the five points of a Star Candy are evenly spaced out along their perimeter. In the 3DS remake, the lower points are closer together while the left and right points are slightly higher and closer to the top point. A Star Candy restores 999 HP and SP, making it the strongest consumable item in the game. In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser can use them. In the remake, Bowser cannot use them, but he has equivalent items exclusive to him named Cheesy Drumsticks.

Star Candies are rare items. Dark Mechawfuls have a chance of dropping Star Candies in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, but not in the remake. The item also has a chance to be rewarded if the player executes the Special Attack Mighty Meteor perfectly.

Max Candies in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team , Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam , and Mario & Luigi: Brothership function identically. In the former two games, all Candy items have the same design as the Star Candy.
