Funny Bone

The Funny Bone is a small area in Bowser's body found in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake. The Funny Bone, like the name suggests, is made of bone, and is connected to Bowser's nerves.

After Bowser inhales everyone at Princess Peach's meeting at Peach's Castle and passes out, Mario, Luigi, and Starlow exit the Trash Pit and gain access to the Funny Bone. Inside the Funny Bone, Starlow flies ahead and finds a nubbin sticking out of one of Bowser's nerves. Mario uses his hammer on the nubbin multiple times, causing Bowser to wake up from the pain. Starlow then talks to Bowser, revealing that he does not remember what happened at the meeting and that he has awakened at a cave within Cavi Cape. The player then gains the ability to control Bowser, with the ability to switch back to Mario and Luigi within Bowser's body.

The Funny Bone consists of a single room, with the entrance on the left, some uneven terrain, a floating bone that can be jumped on, and the exposed nerve making up the right of the area.

Naming[edit ]

"Funny bone" is a colloquial name for the ulnar nerve, a nerve in the elbow that causes a shocking sensation when hit.
