Slot Machine (Paper Mario)

The Slot Machine is an object in Paper Mario . It can be found in the area to the right of the Green Station in Shy Guy's Toy Box. Mario and his partners can play it for free. It has three slots which can be a coin, a star (denoting Mushrooms) or a Shy Guy panel. To play it, Mario must hit the "start" block and stop each slot with the block in front of it. Getting all three slots the same gives Mario 10 Coins, 10 Mushrooms or 5 Shy Guys depending on the panel type. Getting two the same gives Mario 1 coin, 1 Mushroom or 2 Shy Guys. Getting all three different gives Mario nothing.

The Slot Machine also appears in the background of the battle with the Shy Guys. Mario and some of his partners can interact with the start and stop blocks of the machine, labeled Slot Machine (start) and Slot Machine (stop) in the battle system. Hitting any of the three stop blocks stops all three slots. If they turn out the same, the machine spits out coins regardless of the panel type. These coins will be automatically collected and added to the player's total coin count.
