Jam Guys are variants of Shy Guys that appear in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book . They wear grass skirts and their robes are tied with bands. They appear in red, blue, light-blue, green, orange, and yellow.
Jam Guys do not move around or interact much with Yoshi directly, but will start to play their instrument when Yoshi performs a Tail Flick next to one. They will continue to play their instrument for four beats unless Yoshi queues another Jam Guy to perform within that time. A Jam Guy can be given a seashell shell found within their habitat, which they will play as a horn very poorly.
In the Special Studies level Merry Music Festival, they can be seen in the background providing the backing instrumental for Yoshi's performance.
