Sadness
Sadness is a sometimes gloomy but always adorable emotion who lives in Riley's head, alongside her good friend, Joy. The two emotions that appear in the films Inside Out and Inside Out 2 join [ Disney Dreamlight Valley] as part of the [ Emotional Rescue update]. They bring with them the brand-new Inside Out Realm and a series of Quests centering around a lost memory from your past!
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to unlock Sadness as a Villager, complete her Friendship Quests, earn her rewards, and more!

How to Unlock Sadness
Sadness is unlocked by visiting the Inside Out Realm, which is accessed via the top floor of the Dream Castle and costs 15,000 Dreamlight. You can earn Dreamlight by completing Dreamlight Duties around the Valley.
Once you've found your way to the Inside Out Realm, complete the following Quests:
- Help Joy restore the Headquarters console in Emotional Rescue.
- Navigate Long Term Memory Storage with Sadness in Out of the Blue.
- Craft a musical dream for Riley in Dream On!
- Remind Riley of the fun times at a pop concert in Get Up and Glow!
During "Dream On!", Joy will ask you to build her a Remote Headquarters in the Valley. This will cost 10,000 Star Coins. At the end of "Get Up and Glow!", Sadness will move to the Valley, where she will live in Remote Headquarters with Joy.
Sadness Quests
Sadness participates in several Realm Quests in the Inside Out Realm. In addition, she has four Friendship Quests that, put together with Joy's Friendship Quests, form a complete story about a mysterious Plush Bear appearing in the Valley.

Sadness Gift Guide
Sadness tends to prefer gifts related to her signature color, blue. These include:

- Blue Gems such as Sapphire and Aquamarine
- Crystals
- Brilliant Blue Starfish
Sadness Relaxing At Home Guide
Sadness does not have a set time when she relaxes at home, but can sometimes be found in her House at random times during the day.

Decorate your House and Village to resemble Emotional Headquarters with the help of Sadness's Friendship Rewards!
