The Speedboat Ride
This chapter starts with a briefing about a pair of specialists’ deaths. THEIA believes the two are connected due to some dubious overlapping circumstances. Damien is headed to Vietnam, presumably to stage a killing to confirm THEIA’s mistake, though his target is unknown. Enter James Bond on a speedboat in Vietnam!
Once the cutscene is over you’ll be in control of a speedboat. Follow the objective marker, there isn’t really anywhere else for you to drive. You’ll enter a narrow strait between two rocky isles, and when you emerge you’ll see your destination ahead of you in the distance. You’ll pass between another pair of stony isles and arrive at The Pearl and this chapter’s title card.
Dock at the Pearl
Maneuver the boat over to the pier, you’ll automatically dock when you get close enough with a cutscene that sees you starting the journey to your villa.
Follow the concierge to the Loi Villa, where you’ll be staying while you’re here.
Head into the building and up the stairs, then take a left to reach your bedroom and the package Q sent.
Approaching the gift will see James open the box to receive a tracking device and a pair of glasses with recording built in.
At Moneypenny’s request, use your Q-Lens and interact with anything that has a teal objective marker.
After checking three of them, Moneypenny will be satisfied that the glasses work.
| Banner of Acorns | |
|---|---|
| Type: Playing Card | Checkpoint: 03 A Package From Q |
| Upon entering your personal villa, head down the right-hand hallway to find the bathroom. Inside, you'll find the Banner of Acorns sitting on the sink counter to the left of the entrance. | |
The Guest Ledger
Your first order of business is to take a look at the resort’s guest ledger so that Moneypenny can check the names. Head downstairs and out of your villa to meet with the concierge, who will guide you to reception.
Simply follow her until you arrive, then head into the building.
As you enter, you’ll trigger a brief cutscene where James meets a woman who catches his attention.
When it’s over, speak to the receptionist behind the desk to scan and sign the ledger.
| 8 of Shields | |
|---|---|
| Type: Playing Card | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| After checking out the logbook at Reception, follow the signs in the direction of the beach to find the Tranquility Platform. It's far down the path, and you'll know you've found it by all the middle-aged women doing yoga with a hot instructor. The 8 of Shields sits on a lantern in the back right corner, near the edge. | |
| 9 of Roses | |
|---|---|
| Type: Playing Card | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| From the Tranquility Platform, head downstairs until you reach the Tranquility Cave. Inside, you'll encounter an eavesdrop point. Listen in on the man talking on the phone, and he'll mention the storage room. Once he's done, use your Dart Phone, then pickpocket the key. Enter. There, you'll find the 9 of Roses on the cabinet. | |
The Three Targets
After going through the guest ledger, Moneypenny identified three targets that could be targeted: Theresa Lorca, Ramon Hernandez and Ellis White. Your next step is to plant bugs on each of them so you can track them and verify their safety.
While you would normally need to go looking for information on where each target is, we can lead you directly to each one, starting with Theresa Lorca. Use the links below to jump to each target if you’re looking for a specific one.
Theresa Lorca
From the reception desk, turn right and head down the stairs.
Continue straight ahead passing an orange sign on your right, you’ll descend some stone steps to a wooden deck.
Before you reach the deck, however, turn right and climb the edge of the pool. Q-Lens can help you find a climbable ledge.
Climb to the left until you’re stopped by some plants, then climb up and continue to the left.
You’ll complete the challenge Pool Inspector, and you’ll gain access to the Serenity Space, where Theresa Lorca is relaxing.
Approach her to trigger a cutscene where you apply the bug to Lorca while learning about her work, which explains why she’s a potential target.
| Theresa Lorca (Keynote Presentation) | |
|---|---|
| Type: Intel | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| Once you reach the closed-off area where Theresa Lorca awaits (Hint: try sneaking through the underbrush), speak with her. Once the conversation concludes, you'll find the Keynote Presentation sitting on the ground near the pool. | |
Ellis White
From the Serenity Space, head down the stairs.
As you descend the stone path you’ll see a brown sign that points you to the Ocean View Bar.
Follow the path and take a left when you see the yoga deck known as the Tranquility Platform. Head directly across to find a small hub with one path guarded by two men.
Speak to the one with the sunglasses and the fancy shirt to learn that Ellis is throwing a party at the Ocean View bar, but you’ll need a flyer to get in.
When you finish your conversation with him, two women will exit the party, one of them sitting down right behind you.
You can’t pickpocket her without a distraction, so follow the hose at her feet to the left, until you find the key to turn it on.
Activate it, then return to her and pickpocket the flyer when she reacts to the water. Then return to the guard and show it to him, granting you access to the party as well as completing the challenge Party Crasher.
As you head into the party you’ll find Ellis standing at the bar. Approach him to offer to get him drinks, since he’s been cut off for being obnoxious.
| Vietnam Postcard | |
|---|---|
| Type: Postcard | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| At the Ocean View Bar, where you find Ellis White, the Vietnam Postcard sits on a side table by the lounge chairs to the right of the main bar. | |
Follow Ellis’ friend Jonty to the Velvet Lantern bar, when you arrive he’ll point you to the storage room in the back, claiming that you won’t be able to get back there.
Check the wine menu on the bar, then speak to the bartender on the left. Choose the only dialogue option, an off the menu vintage, then pick either option next. We chose ‘Help me out here’ just so the bartender wasn’t annoyed at us. The bartender will head off and you’ll have completed the challenge Blanc the Brut.
With the bartender gone, head into the storage room.
You’ll find two employees on your left, and an exit on your right. Head left, crouching and sneaking behind the two and the large blue vat.
There’s another hose you can activate here, do so to keep them focused on the water, then sneak to the left over to the keys.
Move for the keys as soon as they turn to look at the water, or one of them may turn around and spot you.
Grab the keys and jump over the lockers to your right, then use the nearby exit and return to Jonty.
If you didn’t get caught retrieving the keys, you’ll complete the challenge Key Master.
When you and Jonty return, head behind the bar to unlock the minibar and get Ellis a drink with a secret dose of Q-Trak.
You can offer a few drinks but he wants a Tequila Slammer. You can talk to Ellis after he drinks the beverage, but you’re done here so head out whenever you’re ready.
Ramon Hernandez
Upon exiting the Ocean View bar, head back across the Tranquility Platform and take a right, heading up the path.
Continue climbing the stairs that lead to Serenity Space, but descend the stairs leading to the Lotus bar.
| King of Roses | |
|---|---|
| Type: Playing Card | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| Follow the signs pointing you toward the Lotus Bar, near the Hung Villa. Once there, head around the back right side of the bar to find the King of Roses on the countertop. | |
When you reach the bar, continue down the stairs until you’ve reached the Hung Villa.
The guards won’t let you in, so turn left and start down the path to the pier.
Turn right a few feet along the path and jump down into the foliage, then climb the cliff in front of you.
You’re trespassing now so crouch to avoid detection.
When you advance enough, you’ll automatically move to listen in on a conversation about Ramon, where they mention he’s on the second floor of his villa.
Continue moving forward, descending to a narrow ledge along the edge of the facility.
Jump to the natural rock when you reach the end of the ledge, then start climbing upward. Continue to the left, jumping across any gaps in your way. When you reach the end of this ledge, you’ll have to jump up and climb into a bushy zone.
If you draw close to the two guards in front of the barbecue, and then turn around, you’ll notice a semi-hidden area full of bushes.
Head in that direction, turning right to find a fair of guards isolated from the rest.
Behind the second guard is a stone ledge that you can climb, then another and another, leading directly to the roof of the villa.
Climb up here then make your way over to the bathroom, where one guard is on the phone.
Hack the skylight to open it and then take him down.
This completes the challenge Bathroom Bomb.
Exit the bathroom and enter the door directly across from you. You’ll directly confront Ramon Hernandez, but with Moneypenny’s help you can warn him about the danger and give him Q-Traks.
If you avoided getting detected on your way here, you’ll unlock the challenge The Quiet Man.
| Under of Bells | |
|---|---|
| Type: Playing Card | Checkpoint: 03 The Three Targets |
| No matter how you access Hung Villa, after you're done speaking with Ramon Hernandez, follow the hallway to the bathroom. It's the same layout as Bond's villa. Inside, sitting on the sink, you'll find the Under of Bells. | |
| Tarot Deck | |
|---|---|
| Type: Legacy Item | Checkpoint: 05 The Three Targets |
| From the last collectible in Ramon Hernandez's villa, leave the bathroom and turn left. Walk down to the bedroom, where you'll find the Tarot Deck on the bedside table. | |
Taking a Moment
Head downstairs and out of the villa. If you followed our guide, that was the last target, and Moneypenny will inform you of Damien’s ETA.
Before he arrives, James wants to take a moment for himself, so head to the spot marked by your objective tracker.
You can take this moment to ask Moneypenny a few questions about the mission.
Unfortunately, when you ask how she’s doing, James’ relaxation will be cut short when Lorca’s vitals are spiking. You can earn the challenge Give Me a Minute if you simply wait. Just don’t move at all from beside your chair. Eventually, Moneypenny will let you know her vitals have stabilized and you’ll complete the challenge.
Her villa is nearby, so follow the marker downhill to the Emperor Villa.
The gate will be locked but you can climb over the fence just to the left. As soon as you climb over, a cutscene will start, where you discover Lorca’s not in any danger after all.
Suit Up
It’s night time now, and James is wearing a suit! He needs some help tying the bowtie, so enjoy a little quick time event.
You’ll want to make one end hang lower than the other, the prompts will glow green when you’re successful. Next you’ll have to input five quick time inputs in quick succession. Finally, you’ll have to input six quick time inputs, and tug on both ends of the bow.
| Diving Watch | |
|---|---|
| Type: Memento | Checkpoint: 07 Suit Up |
| After tying your bowtie, turn around to find the Diving Watch sitting on the bedside table. | |
| Caliban (Caliban Profile) | |
|---|---|
| Type: Intel | Checkpoint: 07 Suit Up |
| From the Diving Watch collectible, turn around and walk down the hall to the living room. On the counter, just at the corner, you'll find the Caliban Profile. | |
With your wardrobe taken care of, head downstairs and out of your villa.
Head uphill to reception, taking a right to the pool nearby. Before you can enjoy the party, Moneypenny warns you that Lorca’s vitals are off once more, but Ellis is with her this time.
Follow the marker to the Emperor Villa once more, as Moneypenny realizes the vehicle she was tracking doesn’t actually belong to Damien. When you reach the gate, it’ll be locked, so turn around and head in by the parked vehicles.
Infiltrate the Emperor Villa
Ahead of you will be a series of cliffs that you can climb up, when you reach the top you’ll find a few hostiles patrolling down below.
Take one down and follow up by using your suppressed pistol to headshot the next guard.
Use focus so you only need one shot. The challenge Panther requires you to reach the roof of the Villa without getting detected. This means you can use your suppressed pistol to clear out the area, and even pick up the guards’ silenced weaponry.
After you view the villa, head to the right, killing or avoiding the guard that’s patrolling in your direction. Another pair of guards will be patrolling, but you can headshot one when they stop, then immediately activate focus to shoot the other.
Continue traveling through the bushes until you reach a well-lit area with a staircase. Headshot the two enemies without helmets. The helmeted guard will investigate their bodies, use this opportunity to sneak up and knock him out.
Take the staircase up and hide behind the grill, and headshot the guard without a helmet. Once again, sneak up on the guard with a helmet to knock him out when he’s focused on his dead ally. Once they’re both dead, head up this set of stairs. Enter the door at the top, which leads to the rooftop and a cutscene.
If you successfully avoided getting caught you’ll complete the challenge Panther. If you killed 5 enemies with a silenced weapon along the way, you’ll also complete Silent Night.
Rescue the Hostages
James watches as Damien and his men take Lorca and Ellis hostage. Since Ellis was an unplanned factor, he’s dragged away to be dealt with, so James decides to rescue him first.
From the rooftop, you can see a hole in the center of the grassy area two floors down, the trick is getting down there. You may be tempted to go in (silenced) guns blazing, but this time we do have a challenge that requires you to reach Ellis without killing anyone. Head to the south end of the roof and hack the skylight that isn’t directly above two guards.
This room is dark so they won’t immediately notice you dropping in.
If you have the battery to spare, you can hack the Shutter Controller in the corner of the room before dropping in. This will send the two men outside to investigate, but they’ll end up taking in the night so you can drop in safely. If you manually reactivate the Shutter Controller, the two guards will be stuck outside.
Head out the west door to a room with a bathtub, and turn right, entering a small room with a single patrolling guard.
If you stay hidden behind the couch he won’t spot you. Just to the right of the couch is another door, when the patrolling guard passes you, head through the door.
You’ll find a pair of guards overlooking the central area of the villa and talking. When their conversation ends, one of the guards will start to patrol, so quickly hide behind the nearby cover, then swap cover to the left. This will bring you closer to a guard with his back to you, but you can turn left, leading to a planter that will conceal you.
This way also leads to a bedroom that contains a refill for your battery, which may come in handy. Return to the planter and sneak down the stairs ahead of you when none of the three enemies in the area are looking in your direction.
At the bottom of the stairs turn right into the foliage we saw earlier from the roof and drop into the hatch in the center. Open the door to the west, in the same direction as Ellis (who is visible when using Q-Lens) then approach the double doors with the marker on them. There’s nobody down here to catch you so you don’t need to sneak anymore.
Kick the door in and get ready to fight. As soon as you kick the door in, you’ll complete the challenges Phantom - which required you to reach Ellis without being detected - and Unlicenced to Kill, the challenge we mentioned earlier. This means you can kill the two guards in Ellis’ room.
Once you take them out, a cutscene will play out where Ellis drunkenly attacks you, assuming you’re another one of his hostage takers. He won’t listen to reason so you’ll have to knock him out, which requires a single punch.
Find Theresa Lorca
With that out of the way, it’s time to go after Lorca.
Head out of the room via the shutters and follow the cliff back to the resort.
You’ll drop into some bushes as you find more hostiles combing the area. Use your smoke pod on the enemy to the right, then run through the smoke to reach the next circular platform.
From here head west, and Smoke Pod the sole enemy patrolling this area, though this time you’ll want to take him down when you venture into the smoke, then take cover behind the cushions in the center of this platform.
There’s an enemy up the nearby path from you, so you’ll want to remain hidden from him.
When the smoke clears he’ll notice his incapacitated ally, so he’ll come closer to investigate, at which point you knock him out.
Walk up the path he came down and hide behind the round chairs at the Velvet Lantern bar. This time you’re going to Smoke Pod the lone guard on the right, then immediately enter focus mode and shoot the fire extinguisher behind the bar. Then rush to take cover just under the bar; the enemies behind the bar will check the storage room for the source of the explosion, at which point you can run up the path to the left.
This will trigger a cutscene where James finds Niko Murto dragging Theresa Lorca away, and you’ll complete Wraith and the Pacifist challenge for this stage.
Defeat Niko Murto
This fight plays out similarly to the fight in the hotel. Niko likes to go for grabs, so be ready to dodge out of the way. Once again there are plenty of throwable items around the room, so use them to open Niko up for follow up attacks, or to just tack on a little extra damage.
After you inflict enough damage, you’ll jump straight to a cutscene where James unceremoniously kicks Niko into the fire.
James also rescues Theresa but with the fire burning they have to head out the window. Theresa makes it out but James is intercepted by the very much alive and very much on fire Niko Murto, who was barely a dancer before today and definitely won’t be now.
This second half of the fight won’t last as long, and Niko doesn’t change his tactics at all so just apply a few more attacks and jump out the window.
On the Chopping Block
James survives the fire, but a poorly timed explosion knocks him out, and when he comes to, he's bound to a large stone block in a quarry.
In true 007 fashion, Damien has activated a giant stone cutting machine to chop James clean (or messy?) in half. You can talk to Damien during this process to stall, but it doesn’t alter the outcome. Just as James’ code name is about to change to 007 divided by 2, he’s rescued by none other than Greenway, who shoots James’ restraints from an unknown location.
The Return of Greenway
James’ hands are still bound, but you can call on Greenway to shoot any enemies that approach, so long as you tag them with Q-Lens.
Thief Challenge Tip
"Steal 3 of Greenway's kills during the shootout in the quarry."
Remain in cover, then highlight an approaching enemy for Greenway to
snipe. Before he takes the shot, pop up and shoot the merc yourself.
Head forward along the quarry, taking cover whenever an enemy appears. You can tag more than just enemies, like explosive barrels, or the supports holding up a truck’s bed. He’ll send a few massive blocks of stone tumbling down onto your enemies.
Two Birds, One Stone Challenge Tip:
"Kill one or more enemies with a single shot using Greenway."
Use your Q-Lens to scope out potential targets. You'll note certain
structures and support objects highlighted in yellow, like the cable
tower going down the ramp into the marble quarry after Greenway saves Bond.
Marble Madness Challenge Tip:
"Kill 5 Webb mercs with marble slabs in the quarry."
Use your Q-Lens to note weak points throughout the quarry. Once you spot one on a marble slab, shoot it.
During this whole sequence it helps to keep your Q-Lens active the whole time, so you are always aware when an enemy approaches. After entering a tunnel, a cutscene will start where Greenway will make his way to James and free his hands.
Tracking Damien
Following the cutscene, make your way deeper into the quarry.
| Riptide (Gun Case) | |
|---|---|
| Type: Intel | Checkpoint: 15 Tracking Damien |
| After the short cutscene in which Greenway uncuffs Bond, before heading down the marble tunnel, turn to your right. Sitting on a giant wooden spool, you'll find the Gun Case. | |
You’ll eventually reach a large pit, where you’ll need to climb onto a pipe and sidle across the pit.
When you reach the other side you’ll find a large chamber full of enemies.
Who's Counting? Challenge Tip:
"Get more kills than Greenway in the quarry blitz shootout."
Greenway is slow. Keep moving, keep firing, and you'll inevitably beat him while also completing the previous challenge, Thief.
Greenway will automatically start tagging and shooting targets, so stay behind cover and take out as many enemies as you can. Most of the cover in this area is wooden crates, which won’t last long against enemy gunfire so it’s important to keep moving. Explosive barrels, cranes holding onto stone blocks, and signs on scaffolding can all be shot to take out nearby hostiles.
When you reach the back of the first large room, Greenway will be pinned down, leaving you on your own. Moneypenny will change your objective marker to Greenway’s position. After killing a handful of guards, sprint forward until a brief cutscene takes over.
Bigger is Better
Climb into the massive mining truck, there's an enemy on board at the top of the ladder, but you can grab him with RT/R2 and then throw him over the railing to complete the You Talk Too Much challenge.
Climb into the driver’s seat afterwards and drive into the fray. The hostiles below can’t do anything to stop you so drive up to Greenway’s position and he’ll automatically jump on. Continue driving forward, destroying everything in your path, until the truck breaks down.
Greenway will give you his rifle and swap positions with you, doing his best to get the truck up and running again while you snipe any approaching enemies. As always, aim for explosive barrels and any signs on the scaffolding to send your enemies flying.
Lights Out Challenge Tip:
"Knock out the power and kill all the lights."
Once you stop the truck at the final standoff area, start popping all
those red barrels across the way. You'll knock out the power eventually.
After clearing out this area, Greenway will succeed in starting the truck again, so go back to the driver’s seat.
You’ll need to take a sharp right turn to proceed, but the truck will easily slide over if you’re stuck. Eventually you’ll be treated to a cutscene where you jump out of the truck. Greenway saves James from getting shot, but takes a bullet to the side in the process. He insists he’s okay, sending James on to take Damien down on his own.
Descend into the quarry, jump down small cliffs and running down ramps. You can jump onto the taller building marked MAKO by jumping from the bottom of a ramp onto the side of the building.
Sidle along the yellow pipe to the left, then jump up to the window sill and climb to the yellow pipe running vertically. Slide down this pipe and climb down the adjacent platform, then run down the stairs and along the walkway. When you vault over the railing, you’ll jump down to a cutscene where Damien confronts you.
He takes a compound that elevates his physical attributes. During your fight you’ll need to stun him by throwing things at him in order to make him vulnerable to attack.
After a cutscene, you’ll find yourself in a larger arena where you can use the environment against Damien, like you did with the Murto twin at the gala. Thankfully, Damien can fall for the same trick twice, so you can spam flood lights on him to defeat him.
This area has plenty of throwables and flood lights that you can use against Damien.
Whether you stun him or blind him, he’ll be vulnerable to a melee combo. After a few hits he’ll start using his pistol, requiring you to take cover when you’re not immediately going to stun him.
When Damien is a single combo away from defeat, another cutscene will play out. He’ll attempt to inject more of his compound, but James wrestles with him, requiring you to play out a quick time event. After the horrific result of that cutscene, Damien will fall backwards into the quarry. He’s gravely injured but amused until James finishes him off.
The cutscene continues as James returns to check on Greenway, who is alive but unwell. Greenway asks James to sit with him, but after a few words, he’s gone, bringing the chapter to a close.
Man of the Hour
MI6 has been compromised by Nicholas Webb, who threatens severe leaks if M doesn’t surrender. With no other alternative, M has to accept his demands.
James is told to go see Moneypenny, who is upstairs in her pod.
| Niko Murto Locket | |
|---|---|
| Type: Memento | Checkpoint: 02 Stand Down |
| From the start of the checkpoint, head down to the second tier of the computer room. Turn right, then you'll spot Basil leaning against a desk. Behind him, the Niko Murto Locket. | |
After a brief conversation she’ll ask you to walk with her. Follow her into the elevator and off to THEIA’s chamber.
Along the way, James realizes that Webb has a quantum computer that’s helping him infiltrate MI6, and although Moneypenny made James promise not to do anything reckless, he can’t help himself.
James joins Q in some drinks to remember Greenway before heading out.
| Trilby Hat | |
|---|---|
| Type: Legacy Item | Checkpoint: 04 The Betrayal |
| After talking to Q, turn around and head back towards the elevators. Pass them by and enter the Q-07 Wearables room at the back of Q Lab. Inside, there's a changing room where you'll find the Trilby Hat. | |
| Q-Lab Postcard | |
|---|---|
| Type: Postcard | Checkpoint: 04 The Betrayal |
| For this collectible, head to Q-01 Gym to the left of the elevator bank. Head inside, then climb up the short lockers on the right, then jump across to the tall lockers. From there, jump to the ledge and into the open doorway on the second-story back wall. Follow the hallway down to the desk by the windows, where you'll find the Q-Lab Postcard. | |
It’s time to recollect your gadgets and service weapon. Head to Q-03 Stress Testing to collect your new Q-Watch.
The fingerprint scanner doesn’t allow James to enter, so return to Q’s glass, and use the tape nearby to get it off the glass.
It’s not a full print, so head to the elevators, where Q pushed the button to call the elevator.
The last fingerprint you need to collect is on the robot arm in front of Q-03 Stress Testing.
Return to the scanner and enter Stress Testing, grabbing your new Q-Watch off the table.
This will trigger a lockdown, so you’ll have to figure out a way out.
| Rhys Beckett (Q's Photo) | |
|---|---|
| Type: Intel | Checkpoint: 04 The Betrayal |
| Make your way inside Q-03 Stress Testing to recover a Q-Watch. Pick it up to trigger the failsafe, locking down the room. Then, you can walk over to the cabinet to the left of the entrance. Use the code 4397 (the plate number of the vehicle in the next room) to unlock the cabinet and find Q's Photo. | |
First, head to the grey and yellow box that lets you control a laser.
You can shoot the lock off the shutter and the furnace, but you really only need to shoot the shutter’s lock. Activate the blast test, behind the car, to cause an explosion in the room in ten seconds.
You can get in the car to protect yourself, but before you do that, open the door to the left of the console.
When the blast test goes off, it’ll cause the canisters to explode, creating a gap to the next building that you can use to escape.
This room is the Gadget Room, so approach the gadget cart near the intended entrance to select your loadout. We brought the Laser Strap, Dart Phone and Smoke Pod. Exit the gadget room and turn right, heading into the armory at the end of the room.
The service pistol is in the armory but you can’t get in from the front, unless you have the Armory door code, which is Tap to Reveal.
Now, simply look for Water's name on the TV displaying the high scores. Water's high score (Tap to Reveal) is the armory door code.
Instead, enter the shooting range, and crouch through the open shutter on the side. In the back of this hall, you’ll find a vent cover, head inside and exit from the other side, then continue down the ventilation shaft.
Your pistol will be sitting on a well-lit cabinet, collect it then head out for the elevator. A cutscene will play of James turning the lights out and leaving the lab.
As you ride up the elevator, you’ll receive a call from Isola, who offers to get you to Webb. When you leave the elevator, head downstairs and out the door to leave MI6 and this chapter behind and begin the next, Wave of the Future.
