• Who we are

What has been done so far

• We participate round-the-year in local and national events and fairs, seminars, lectures in classrooms, etc. for promoting WMF projects in Italy (logbook)
• We support and collaborate in nationwide petitions and campaigns
• We organised some online and offline initiatives
• We have obtained the status of "associazione di promozione sociale" (social promotion association, a "charity" status in Italy); this grants tax deductibility on donations for the donors and other facilitations: we have also joined the WMF 2009 fundraising and 2009 "cinque per mille" campaign (sort of Eight per thousand for charities)
• Since 2015 we are the Italian chapter of the OpenStreetMap Foundation
• We have an office in Milan.

What we do

We have several projects and activities to support communities and the spread of free content. Some examples:

• Wiki Loves Monuments Italia (and the webapp app.wikilovesmonuments.it)

• We provide scholarships for events (Wikimania, itWikiCon, State of the Map, etc.)

Wikimedia Italien wurde am Freitag, dem 17. Juni 2005 in Canino gegründet.

Die Satzung wurde vorbereitet und von der Wikimedia Foundation genehmigt.

Während eines IRC-Treffens mit Jimbo, Angela und Anthere wurde die Satzung geändert und die Foundation erhielt die Erlaubnis, fortzufahren.
