Steward requests/Global permissions
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions
- Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
- Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request
|
---|
Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} === {{sr-request |status = <!-- don't change this line --> |domain = global <!-- don't change this line --> |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user --> }} ::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC'' The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. |
Global rollback for Cohaf
- Global user: Cohaf (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
- Not ending before 26 May 2019 06:42 UTC
Hey all, I can't say I am very experienced in handling crosswiki vandalism but I do have some experience. I know my index isn't that impressive and my cross-wiki matrix isn't that great as some global rollbackers / sysops (when they applied for the right). However, I believe I can tell the difference between good faith edits and vandalism in languages I am not familiar with. I also believe I have the experience of the rollback tool based on my experience in multiple project with the tool. Regarding supressing redirects, I also have some experience with the right in some projects. I hope to be given the tool to be able to clean up after crosswiki abusers more efficiently (although the undo button works), just a little faster. I intend to be of help to SWMT when needed. Thanks for consideration and your time. Regards, --Cohaf (talk) 06:42, 21 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
- Support Support Obviously, expert at detecting LTA crosswiki, especially LTA NDC, active on many conversation regarding anti-LTA, vandals and spammer, often helped me reverting LTA Manda edit crosswiki when I'm busy, giving Cohaf Global Rollback Permission will ease many of fellow SWMTs work.--Aldnonymous Bicara? 06:44, 21 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
- Support Support. Cohaf is one of the most cooperative users I have seen and I have always enjoyed working with him. I am confident in his ability to revert vandalism in many different languages and I know that that he will make good use of these tools.--BRP ever 07:08, 21 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

Tomybrz Bip Bip 20:45, 21 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
- This comment can be ignored, cohaf actually can speak fluent chinese, and know zhongwen really well, and cohaf manage to detect many LTA using his language skill/knowledge, especially libel that made by LTA NDC that probably will be missed by many English speaker who try to detect LTA using google translate, for example, just right bellow this request (request for global IP block exempt) didn't cohaf write those replies in Chinese? So this accusation made by PineappleEating is false.--Aldnonymous Bicara? 00:58, 22 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

- Thanks for your frank feedback. I'll ensure I ask around if I'm not sure of anything in a language I need to rely on Google before reverting. Thanks Tomybrz and Aldnonymous for helping me reply too.--Cohaf (talk) 02:00, 22 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

I am living in PRC and I need edit Wikipedia with ExpressVPN. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hoodrop (talk) 10:44, 15 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
- @Hoodrop: Which language projects do you want to edit? Ruslik (talk) 18:28, 16 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
All language, could I? Mainly English and Chinese. Thank you.
- I think that you should request local IP block exemptions. Ruslik (talk) 09:43, 18 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
But it only could exemption for Chinese.
- @Hoodrop: You can also request local ipbe in English Wikipedia -- Catherine Laurence
- @Catherine Laurence: Fwiw, I’d be fairly skeptical granting local IPBE on en.wiki for an extended period of time to an account with three total edits, all to meta. At most I’d grant for s month and then tell them to contact me again if they still needed it. TonyBallioni (talk) 16:02, 21 May 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
