Update Title Block Headings

KaiUR edited this page May 21, 2026 · 1 revision

Update Title Block Headings

Edit the heading labels (e.g. DRAWN BY:, TITLE:, PART NUMBER:) in the title block of the active CATDrawing sheet.

What it does

Scans the background view of the active drawing sheet for all text items whose content ends with a colon — these are the heading labels created by the border/title block scripts. A dialog lists each heading with its current text pre-filled in an editable field. Only fields whose text is changed are written back; unchanged fields are left as-is.

Requirements

  • CATIA V5 running with an open CATDrawing document
  • Python >= 3.10
  • pycatia
  • wxPython

Usage

  1. Open a CATDrawing with an existing title block as the active document.
  2. Run the script.
  3. The dialog shows each heading label with its current text — edit as needed.
  4. Click OK to apply changes.
