Imports points from a text or CSV file into CATIA as datum points in a new geometric set. This script does not support point names — all points are created with default CATIA names. See Insert Points Catia With Names if you need named points.

1. Open a CATPart document
2. Run the script
3. A file browser dialog appears — select your TXT or CSV file
4. Points are created in a new geometric set named Point Inport

Text file (.txt) — space separated:

10.0 5.0 2.5
20.0 5.0 2.5
30.0 5.0 0.0

CSV file (.csv) — comma separated:

10.0,5.0,2.5
20.0,5.0,2.5
30.0,5.0,0.0

If a line contains only two values (X and Y), Z is set to 0 automatically. Lines with fewer than two values are skipped.

• Points are created as isolated datums — no parametric link to the coordinate values
• There is no error correction beyond skipping short lines — ensure your file is clean before importing
• For points with names use Insert Points Catia With Names
