Imports points from a text or CSV file into CATIA as live parametric point features in a new geometric set. This script does not support point names — all points are created with default CATIA names. Results are left as parametric features rather than converted to datums. See Insert Points Catia With Names Keep History if you need named points.

1. Open a CATPart document
2. Run the script
3. A file browser dialog appears — select your TXT or CSV file
4. Points are created in a new geometric set named Point Inport

Text file (.txt) — space separated:

10.0 5.0 2.5
20.0 5.0 2.5
30.0 5.0 0.0

CSV file (.csv) — comma separated:

10.0,5.0,2.5
20.0,5.0,2.5
30.0,5.0,0.0

If a line contains only two values (X and Y), Z is set to 0 automatically. Lines with fewer than two values are skipped.

• Points are created as live parametric features — use Insert Points Catia if you want isolated datums instead
• There is no error correction beyond skipping short lines — ensure your file is clean before importing
• For points with names use Insert Points Catia With Names Keep History
