SCP-CN-3000 - Eternal Glory to All Nodes

From where it all started with SCP-173 being posted to 4chan, no one thought this group called "the SCP Foundation" would last until today.
From Tieba to the old forum, and then to Wikidot, no one dared to declare that the Chinese Branch could develop all the way to SCP-CN-3000, with the most articles of any foreign branch.
To our past selves, the fact that all this happened would seem like a miracle, but looking back, every step taken by the Foundation is already its fate.
Standing at the intersection of miracles and fate, we invite all SCP fans to light their sparks and tell us what "miracles" and "fate" really mean.

Important Dates

Posting Period: 2023年12月29日 00:00 ~ 2024年1月4日 23:59 Beijing Time
Voting Period: 2024年1月5日 00:00 ~ 2024年1月14日 23:59 Beijing Time

Rules

  1. The themes are Miracles/Fate.
    • We call happenings so dazzling, so unbelievable as to be unthinkable "miracles". We wish for them often, but we cannot control their occurrence. We gaze at them, seemingly close enough to grasp, yet unfathomably far away. We can only wait for them to grace our presence — or can we summon one through sheer force of will?
    • We call events that must come no matter how much we fight them "fate". We often detest its arrival, but are powerless against it. We yearn to be free of it, but is it always a bad thing?
    • We always believe that miracles can break the dreary chains of fate, but are miracles not themselves fated? Is it not a miracle that we are here today, having come so far? If fate smiles on us, would that not be a miracle to those around us? Please, tell us what "fate" and "miracles" really mean to you.
  2. This contest has two themes. Authors may choose either theme to guide their work, or use both at once. After posting your entry, you should immediately explain which theme you chose in the discussion page.
  3. Note that although this contest has two themes, all entries will compete against each other for the same prize.
  4. How to participate: Your article should have the URL name cn3000<your username>. The article must be posted by the author themselves.
    • The article is to be titled SCP-CN-3000: <your work's title>.
    • You may use the initial original article template and add a rating module.
    • Joint works should list all participating authors' usernames.
  5. The text on this page does not in any way represent the preferences of the organizers. The contents of the article may be freely developed from the theme. You are welcome to take inspiration from the flavortext on this page, but this will not give you any advantage.
  6. Each author may only make one entry; collaborative entries count as the sole entry for all collaborators.
  7. You may begin writing drafts as soon as the theme is revealed. It is not recommended to rush out an article during the voting period.
  8. All entries must be tagged cn3000, so that your entry can be tracked on this page.
    • The following actions, and others, may be considered vote manipulation:
      1. Advertising your article in Wikidot PMs
      2. Immediately downvoting other entries within minutes of their posting
      3. Voting on articles using alternate accounts or for reasons other than the article's contents
    • Note: Frequently advertising any article on other websites is very likely to be noticed.
  9. Previously prepared drafts may be entered, as long as they have not been previously posted to the main site.
  10. All entries are subject to the standard deletion procedures.
  11. You may edit your article after posting; however, major edits may only be made during the posting period.
  12. The winning entry will be granted the SCP-CN-3000 slot. In the event of a tie, the article with the greater ratio of upvotes will be the winner.
  13. Please list your five most preferred slots on the discussion page upon posting. Following the conclusion of the contest, the remaining articles will be assigned to their preferred slots in descending order of rating.
  14. Ask the organizers if you have any doubts or questions not listed above.

For International Readers
