SCP-ZH-301-2
Item #: SCP-ZH-301
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-ZH-301 is contained in a humanoid containment cell at Site-ZH-81, with its requests fulfilled as long as containment remains unaffected. SCP-ZH-301-2 events are to be disguised as Russian folk activities, and involved residents should be amnestized. Experimentations involving SCP-ZH-301 are prohibited unless the object's consent has been obtained.
Description: SCP-ZH-301 is a 2-meter-tall, humanoid straw figure covered with a piece of red floral-patterned fabric. It can produce feminine voices from its abdominal component and communicate in Russian and English with a heavy Russian accent. The mechanisms underlying of its vocalization are yet unknown. The object possesses knowledge of relatively modern information regarding Russia and intelligence comparable to that of a healthy adult human. SCP-ZH-301 is capable of moving its limbs but has difficulty performing precise manipulations.
Every year between late February and early March, a replica of SCP-ZH-301 (hereafter referred to as SCP-ZH-301-1) appears randomly in towns across Russia and burns continuously for 24 hours, emitting a high-frequency sound of approximately 25,000 Hz, imperceptible to the human ear, as it burns. During the burning, it will attract residents of the town to gather, and despite their intense interest in the phenomenon, they will break off from the contemplation to attend to their physiological needs. This burning phenomenon and crowd gathering event are referred to as SCP-ZH-301-2.
The object was discovered in ███████ Village, Russia, which was abandoned. Following consultation with local authorities, it was transfer to its initial discoverer, Site-ZH-81, for containment and research.
Interviewee: SCH-ZH-301 (hereafter referred to as ZH-301)
Interviewer: Dr. Zhou Liang
Note: This interview was conducted in English.
[Start of interview]
Dr. Zhou Liang: Hello, ZH-301.
ZH-301: Hello, good sir, where am I?
Dr. Zhou Liang: This is Site-ZH-81, we have to temporarily detain you here to prevent potential accidents.
ZH-301: Certainly, sir. I understand fully.
Dr. Zhou Liang: For example, when did you appear? Or do you have any idea of your anomalous properties?
ZH-301: Good sir, I am the dead. I was birthed from the spirit of the first deceased, and the ones who identify with their own nation will become me.
ZH-301: I am those who have passed away, yet sublimation cannot be achieved without experiencing me, as the warmth of the sun cannot be felt without withstanding the cold of winter.
ZH-301: I bake blinis for the children with the first rays of spring, and sew their new clothes with the first threads of rainbows.
ZH-301: Good sir, I take away the winter, along with those sorrowful memories.
Dr. Zhou Liang: Well, I see. So...you are the collection of...those who died?
ZH-301: Yes, those who died, they see this land as home, so they came back.
ZH-301: They came back, with shining treasures of knowledge, sharing them with everyone. After the flames, memories became ashes, leaving solely the gems.
Dr. Zhou Liang: Do you know that your replicas produce high pitch noises when they burn?
ZH-301: Those are not noises, but screams, everyone is burning, and it hurts. However, we received a grand crowd for our farewells, even the most inferior child was to be seen off.
ZH-301: No need to worry, my good sir, good human, that was inevitable, they have to suffer. Without darkness, light will no longer have its meaning, we are the necessary sacrifice.ZH-301: Good sir, I have minimized our damage to this world, please don’t take away even our funerals.

Maslenitsa will be my greatest piece; the sorrow of death will be drowned out by the warmth of the flames; people will no longer fear death, they will part with the winter with joy and laughter.
Rather than fearing the dark, they long for the coming light.
Thus, those who passed early are needed.
Our light will live along our sons and daughters, until no one sees this land as home.
Maslenitsa, my daughter, my beloved, and myself.
Please, bake blinis with the warm sun, and sew new clothes with the rainbows. You will live forever.
We will all live forever.
I'm close to losing sense of everything I have, it is time.
It is time to bid farewell to the winter. My mother, beloved, and myself.
We will hold grand memorials for you.
Until no one sees you as home.
