Special Containment Procedures: The location of SCP-CN-2785 is to be marked on the map in order to avoid visual contact or exposure on light-sensitive equipment. Any further communication or proposals to alter the Containment Procedures requires Level 3 or higher clearance.
Description: SCP-CN-2785 is a lighthouse on a designated hill in the Pearl River Delta region, thought to possess rudimentary sentience and sapience. The object has no entrance. Every 4 hours, the object will produce a 6000-lumen flash of light. The structure has been deteriorating since discovery, and is expected to neutralize itself by 2025.
If the weather is clear and the sky is free of clouds and other weather phenomena after 7:00 pm on a certain day, such that SCP-CN-2785 has a clear line of sight to the sky, SCP-CN-2785 will produce light in a random high-frequency pattern, and transmit a systematic electrical signal. In extremely rare cases, this signal will elicit a response from an unknown source. The signals have been successfully decoded. See addendum.
