    SCP-CN-2692: An Innate Tendency

Item #: SCP-CN-2692

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the object's anomalous properties, it is unable to become an effective target of containment operations. As the object and its effects have affected the entire would and have become public knowledge, forcing the Foundation to dissolve the Veil, the object has become a part of normalcy and does not need to be contained. The Foundation is currently encouraging and supporting the public in establishing a standard of verbal communication in order to prevent more civilians from becoming targets of SCP-CN-2692.

Important Update 2023年10月10日: The "Department of Occupational Theology" has been reestablished and given the primary mission of "emergency research into the best way to cook dove meat".

The establishment of such a department is the only progress we can make now. We are not even able to begin our work. We welcome everyone to give positive advice, while paying attention to human safety.

— O5-2

Description: SCP-CN-2692 is a divine entity, which entered the current dimension on 2023年09月30日 due to an anomalous ritual held by the Group of Interest "Toothless Beast". The anomaly is referred to by various names in the group's tradition, but is consistently described as "the God that brings an end to war, who will bring down the tower of War through its sharp feathers and iron break". SCP-CN-2692's external appearance is that of an oversized dove, 175 m from head to tail and with a wingspan of 700 m; its beak and feathers appear metallic, and its eyes are crimson. As of the writing of this document, SCP-CN-2692 is currently flying through the Earth's atmosphere on a variable route, and has never made landfall.

SCP-CN-2692-1 is the designation for metal feathers that manifested above the heads of all humans on Earth at approximately 14:00 on 2023年09月30日. Each SCP-CN-2692-1 floats approximately 3 inches above the corresponding human's head, and is completely impervious to external damage.

When a human subject performs an action that can be considered to be related to "war" or even "conflict", the SCP-CN-2692-1 above their head will fall and kill the subject, piercing any form of protection currently known. If an "instigator" exists, their cause of death will be the instantaneous manifestation of a hole pierced through the top of the head and the skull, resembling a hole made by a bird's beak. These two phenomena are clearly caused by SCP-CN-2692, and are referred to as "the punishment of the feather" and "the punishment of the beak".

It was only after a sharp 74% decrease in world population that the Foundation and international society successfully summarized the above properties and was forced to enact the following measures:

  • Releasing all members of "Toothless Beast" in captivity;
  • Announcing SCP-CN-2692's existence and basic properties;
  • Retiring all current military servicemen
  • Sealing or destroying all weaponry
  • Establishing a Project Team (led by the Department of Miscommunications) to write a standard for public communication and behavior.

Incident CN-2692: On 2023年10月07日, [REDACTED] sent out a force primarily composed of civilians into the neighboring nation of [REDACTED] to settle on the latter's land and use its resources. The original inhabitants were unable to tolerate this any further and attempted to counterattack, at which point they died from "the punishment of the feather".

While this was not caused directly by the anomaly, SCP-CN-2692 is still thought to possess latent Apollyon-level traits. There is an urgent need to enact the necessary measures.

Footnotes
. Containment: the use of peaceful, amicable, nonviolent means to cause the target to enter a protected, isolated state in which it is unable to affect the outside world.
. The establishment of a comprehensive and precise standard covering all ordinary realms of discourse has been deemed necessary, and is being worked on by a team led by the Department of Miscommunications. However, due to difficulties in this process, this standard is currently in the review stage and may remain in this state for an extended period of time.
. All members of the previous incarnation of this Department died from "the punishment of the feather"; the instigator (the former O5-2) died from "the punishment of the beak".
. GoI-921; the group's core tenets include an extreme opposition to war.
. The scope of this criterion is extremely vague, and may even vary over time.
