Item #: SCP-CN-2458
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All mainstream operating systems, anti-virus software and web browsers are to contain a patch that warns and denies access to users from affected websites. Inspections are to be carried out regularly to ensure that these websites are isolated effectively. Domain names are to be blocked by all internet service providers and any unauthorized access is to be monitored by Foundation webcrawlers. Level 2 clearance is required to access all affected websites, and this must be carried out by a D-Class personnel.
Description: SCP-CN-2458 are a series of anomalous websites, all URLs of which contain the text "cookie/cookies" within them. The contents of the website has no clear pattern and Error 405 constantly occurs within archived versions or when browsing the current website. Currently, the only method of accessing the websites is by directly typing the URL. Keyword queries through search engines will not display any results.
When loading the webpage, a blank pop-up window will appear. A stiff-jointed and emaciated human arm will then extend from the monitor’s screen within the pop-up window. If the user places their hand underneath the pop-up window, the arm will place a warm and fresh cookie on the user’s hand; the cookie will contain the user’s username, password, registered account or other personal information written in chocolate syrup on top of the cookie. After "accepting" the cookie, the webpage can be accessed as normal. If the cookie was denied verbally or is not obtained for an extended period of time, the arm will attempt to push the cookie directly into the user’s mouth. Holding or ingesting the cookie using the mouth will be deemed as "accepting" the cookie, while users who discard or transfer the cookie to others will still be unable to access the webpage.
If the browsing device contains any malware such as cross-site scripting or trojan horse, the cookie will be snatched away by another arm that appears outside the pop-out window. Sometimes, this arm will also produce burnt cookies. If the burnt cookies are accepted they will cause negative consequences such as continuously receiving spam emails from the inbox, personal info accessed by third party and the computer case continuously producing a burnt smell. These may be related to accepting the malicious cookies files sent by SCP-CN-2458.
Using the web browser to view cookies used by SCP-CN-2458 will cause the optical disk drive to be ejected, with a stale cookie placed on the tray.
