As viewed from Agent "Needleleaf"'s lookout
Item #: SCP-CN-224
Objec Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: At least 10 teams of agents who have undergone the relevant memetic inoculation are to be stationed within a 10 km radius of SCP-CN-224's center. These agents are to administer Class A or B amnestics to personnel attempting to or having already reached SCP-CN-224. Signal interference on all frequency bands is to be applied to SCP-CN-224 to prevent human flight over the region.
Description: SCP-CN-224 is a plain located in the ██████ region of the Qilian Montains in Qinghai, China. The plain is arranged in concentric circles, with the central section, thought to be the cut surface of a tall structure, being the oldest. Clouds in the sky above this region are distributed at 10 m from the ground. SCP-CN-224 has a strong memetic effect. Any personnel who view this phenomenon will become instances of SCP-CN-224-1. SCP-CN-224-1 will begin to socialize with a member of the opposite sex with the intent to enter a relationship and legally marry. If at any point this process is impeded, SCP-CN-224-1 will travel to SCP-CN-224 in the following 240 hours to end its life. Administering Class A amnestics to SCP-CN-224-1 instances has an 80% rate of success, while Class B amnestics can completely clear the effect.
The region around SCP-CN-224 experiences anomalous weather patterns, experiencing snowfall every 3 days from June to September and thunderstorms every 24 hours from December to March.
13 deceased SCP-CN-224-1 instances have been discovered in the region, all of which died from suicide.
Date: 2016年06月28日
Incident Report: On 2016年08月20日, one male SCP-CN-224-1 entered within 500 m of SCP-CN-224 and was apprehended by Agent "Needleleaf". Agent "Needleleaf" conducted the interview and subsequently administered Class A amnestics to the instance, who was then returned to human society but remained under surveillance. No subsequent anomalies were detected.

Interviewer: Let's get straight to the point. What are you doing here?
Interviewee: [silence]
Interviewer: Answer my question, please. What did you come here to do?
Interviewee: [silence]
Interviewer: If you don't wish to reply, that's okay. I will respect that. Take a look at this picture.
Interviewee: Hmm.
Interviewer: Alrigh. What did you come here to do?
Interviewee: To kill myself.
Interviewer: Why?
Interviewee: My love.
Interviewer: In more detail, please. Start from how you discovered this place.
Interviewee: I'll start with her.
Interviewer: The woman you loved, I presume. Go on.
Interviewee: We grew up in a village not too far from here. I've known her for as long as I can remember.
Interviewer: I'm listening. Go on.
Interviewee: We talked about everything under the sun, and we stuck together. Sometimes we'd fight, but we'd forgive each other not long after.
Interviewer: So why did you come here?
Interviewee: Ten years ago, on an autumn day, we had just finished our national exams. After the test, I took her with me on my bike through the mountains. That was when we discovered this holy place.
Interviewer: If I may interrupt, why do you call this a "holy place"?
Interviewee: I don't know either. I think it was just how stunned I was by it. You know how beautiful the scenery is here. A plain amid the endless mountains, where you can find a snowstorm in summer. If it were you, you'd feel the same.
Interviewer: That's true.
Interviewee: And it was then that we discovered a huge elm tree. Beneath that tree was a beautiful poem. Though I don't remember it, even now I still repeat it to myself.
[silence]
Interviewee: There, we held each other's hands and promised never to part.
Interviewer: I'm listening.
Interviewee: My life has always been wonderful, until last month.
Interviewer: What happened?
Interviewee: She got in a car accident, and left me forever. In that instant, I lost any meaning I had in life. So here I am, ready to end my life. After all, if life is so good… [sobbing]
Interviewer: My condolences. I don't know if this will help, but please, have a drink of this. I hope it will make you feel better.
Interviewee: Thank you.
[sound of falling over] [sigh]

Postscript" This SCP-CN-224-1 instance was administered Class A amnestics; the subject recalls everything that happened, and his mental state remains good.
Addendum: Following Incident 224-1, Agent "Needleleaf" discovered SCP-CN-224-2, an approximately 2500-year-old elm tree. The bark of the tree is intact. Below the tree is a rectangular piece of stone (SCP-CN-224-3), engraved with Han dynasty clerical script.
上邪,我欲与君相知,长命无绝衰。山无陵,江水为竭。冬雷震震,夏雨雪。天地合,乃敢与君绝。
By Heaven, I wish to love you, forever without end, till the mountains fall and the rivers are exhausted, till it thunders in winter and snows in summer; when the heavens and the earth become one, only then will I part from you.
