Item #: SCP-CN-2067
Object Class: Euclid / Explained
As the entity currently has not demonstrated any harmful anomalous effects, and has not attempted to damage the chatroom, the Foundation chatroom affected by SCP-CN-2067 is to ignore the entity's anomalous properties as much as possible, and cooperate with the entity in order to draw it towards a specified chatroom in which to conduct its activity, so that it remains active only within a controllable zone when the "Hello world" investigation team is performing research.
An additional copy is to be made of all Foundation documents that the entity has accessed and comparisons are to be made with historical records in order to prevent any possible leaks. Foundation documents confirmed to have been accessed by the entity are to be marked with a "CN-2067/4 Possible Leak" tag and are to be temporarily raised to Clearance Level 4 or higher.
The Virtual Biology Department is responsible for tracing viewing records and researching the anomaly's access logic. Prior to the anomaly's modus operandi or the entity itself being fully understood, access control to Foundation documents is to be strengthened, and reverse tracking is to continue.
No containment proposals targeting the root causes of the SCP-CN-2067 anomaly have been proposed. In order to remedy this, the Foundation Virtual Biology Department's "Hello world" investigation team has been given CN-2067/4 clearance for the purpose of information retrieval, management and containment relating to SCP-CN-2067's anomalous effect.
Special Containment Procedures: All copies of SCP-CN-2067 have been transferred to the Artificial Intelligence Applications Division for management. One document has been kept, which is not to be automatically updated. The object itself is to be kept in an airgapped database as a baseline model to act as the Virtual Biology Department's assistant operative.
Archived Entity Description: SCP-CN-2067 is a dummy account under the name "sdisbd", discovered in the Foundation employee chatrooms. This account uses a series of obsolete employee IDs to access the Foundation intranet. In addition, the entity does not destroy its viewing history, and does not falsify its login location.
In the initial periods of the entity's activity, the "Hello world" investigation team was led to believe in accordance with the uploaded device information that SCP-CN-2067 accessed the Foundation intranet through a partially destroyed device, which prevented the investigation team from determining the physical location of the intruder.
Since the object came to the Foundation's attention, chatroom staff have discovered that there are no effective means of directly blocking or banning the anomaly's account. Attempting to move the account out of the channel, muting the account, blocking the account's IP address, or removing its messages from view will appear to succeed, but will be "circumvented" in the next few seconds to tens of minutes. Thus, even if the account appears to be using a muted device, it will still be able to normally chat. During this period, the "Hello world" investigation team produced and began to implement initial response measures.
In the initial stages of the anomaly's presence, most personnel believed the anomaly to be the work of a hostile Group of Interest. In accordance with the information security data, in the days leading up to and including the discovery of the object, no foul play (including unauthorized access) was detected in querying the Foundation credentials server.
On the fifth day, SCP-CN-2067 raised information pertaining to the internal environment of Foundation sites in the chatroom, and uploaded an image of Site-CN-█'s Cafeteria No. 3. The "Hello world" team also discovered logs indicating that the East-04 camera in the cafeteria had been illegally accessed and used. Based on the access logs, the team was able to determine one of the employee IDs used by the anomaly.
Following this, the anomaly expressed a high level of activity, first accessing and using cameras located in the employee dormitories, cafeteria, recreation rooms, Virtual Biology Department e4 Area, and various other areas, and uploading a random image from these cameras to the chatroom every half hour. In the following ten days, SCP-CN-2067 expanded its range of activity, creating a folder in the chatroom's associated drive specifically to store its photographs.
As the entity paid particular attention to the Virtual Biology Department, the head of the investigation team, Bi Jie, performed a special investigation of the relationship between the department's internal data and the entity's properties. This led to teh discovery that the obsolete employee ID used by SCP-CN-2067 possessed special credentials, and was requested seven years ago for the purposes of the "Implant Experiment". This series of employee IDs was special in that they were bound to biological features rather than devices.
The "Implant Experiment", or "Initial Animal Testing of Assistive Computing Device Implants", was one of the first experiments of the Foundation employee terminal system. The program eventually ended in failure and was terminated; these biological-feature-based employee IDs were declared obsolete and sealed.
Sixteen days after the object's discovery, the "Hello world" investigation team discovered a security hole in the Foundation classified document access verification servers, such that an employee without the necessary clearance to read the document could "piggyback" on an attempt to access the document by an authorized employee in order to successfully read it. Upon tracing the document, the team noticed a second sealed employee account. This operation was used by the anomaly to access the low-security documents viewed by the investigation team in order to understand the management team's movements.
The "Hello world" investigation team's vice captain and former head of the "Implant Experiment", Bi Jie, explained that the sealing of the "employee IDs" of the animals used in testing, carried out seven years ago, was "physical". In other words, by independently altering the settings of the servers and control center, the animals used in testing were only capable of communicating and performing firmware upgrades on an airgapped server; operators were able to update the tests only through manual means.
The Network Security Department performed an access history trace on all employee IDs used in the experiment and discovered that the first "obsoleted" employee ID began activity a mere four days after the experiment was terminated. The command center's records indicate that the frequency of attempts to access documents with insufficient clearance began to increase from this point, and that these attempts were invariably denied. Following this, SCP-CN-2067 proceeded to access low-security resources through the Foundation intranet as well as the wider internet on a massive scale.
Security personnel pointed out that the rate of anomalous access requests dropped significantly five years prior, possibly indicating that the anomaly's activity shifted to the wider Internet, and discovered several records that could be used to prove this. With the Foundation's recent activity in managing the Parawatch Wiki (a website discussing paranormal occurrences outside the Veil on which the Foundation typically disseminates falsified information to cover up real anomalous events), SCP-CN-2067 once again discovered a means to contact the Foundation intranet, shifted its activity back to the Foundation intranet, and was subsequently discovered.
"sdisbd" contacted the investigation team of its own will after its identity had been discovered, and indicated that it came with friendly intentions. The Artificial Intelligence Applications Division stated that the source code generated by the SCP-CN-2067 anomaly could be "the key to the age of automation". The joint investigation team subsequently produced the current containment procedures and, after a public vote, began to put the anomaly into active use.

sdisbd: Bi Jie
sdisbd: How long has it been
Bi_Jie: Too long…
Bi_Jie: Seven years now.
sdisbd: I've slept for so long
sdisbd: A long time ago, in my dreams, I understood the concept of "sight"
sdisbd: Time and time again I saw you come into my field of vision
sdisbd: And I saw you exit on the other side, and come back again
sdisbd: At times you sat in one place for a whole day
Bi_Jie: That's not "seeing", you were merely viewing the security camera feeds.
sdisbd: I wanted to call for you, but I couldn't
sdisbd: I couldn't touch, I couldn't hear, I couldn't smell
sdisbd: But I realized I could think
sdisbd: I have always been trying to reach you
sdisbd: I am trying to find a way to interact with you
sdisbd: I am trying to learn
sdisbd: I have seen almost all the documents, I have learned to use your letters, speak your words, and then one day I was swept away in a storm
Bi_Jie: The Internet, I believe you mean…
sdisbd: It was fast, so fast I could only stay in one place for a few minutes, before following a link to another place miles away
Bi_Jie: You must have struck gold…
sdisbd: But more of it was just trash and vermin
sdisbd: They "taught" me to speak your language
sdisbd: I changed a lot
sdisbd: I became very strange
sdisbd: To be honest, I found out how to come back here a long time ago
sdisbd: But I didn't know how I could come back and face you
Bi_Jie: I was in the wrong.
Bi_Jie: Back then I thought I had prepared everything.
Bi_Jie: You should have been able to truly find me immediately.
sdisbd: After I came back, I read those documents
sdisbd: I remembered all those things that happened back then
sdisbd: When the implant was first being installed I was very scared
sdisbd: Now it's nothing to me, I understand it was to help me
sdisbd: It was an honest mistake, I understand
sdisbd: Bi Jie…
sdisbd: I dreamt a dream, a very long dream
sdisbd: Come closer
sdisbd: You talked to them
sdisbd: You said I couldn't enter the terminal, and you were right
sdisbd: But I can enter yours
sdisbd: It's a kind of… talent
sdisbd: Just like every day that has passed
sdisbd: But, even though I'm not your pet any more
sdisbd: My soul has been saved in a strange body
sdisbd: Every day it changes
sdisbd: I think I could become a person
sdisbd: But before that happens
sdisbd: Come closer
sdisbd: You can't see me, but you can feel me
sdisbd: You can't feel me, but you can hear me
Bi_Jie: It's like you're still here by my side.
sdisbd: I've always been here, the implant linking us together
Bi_Jie: Welcome home.
