Special Containment Procedures: The relevant department shall monitor missing children cases throughout China to record occurrences of SCP-CN-2028 and investigate for further information.
Description: SCP-CN-2028 refers to a series of missing person incidents, typically occurring in in civilian areas near kindergartens, elementary schools and middle schools between 5:30 and 9:30 pm. The missing persons are typically children between the ages of 7 and 11; some incidents also involve adults between the ages of 32 and 79.
SCP-CN-2028 typically occurs on sidewalks and unmonitored locations, and more often in older residential communities. Of note is that SCP-CN-2028 events typically lead to power outages and loss of signal in the vicinity.
After an SCP-CN-2028 event, vehicle tracks will appear on a nearby road. These tracks are typically 75 cm wide, but can reach up to over 80 cm in cases, and 120-200 m long. The tracks are cut off at the end; there is no way to determine the direction the vehicle presumably took after leaving these tracks. In the vast majority of cases, personnel in the area reported hearing the sounds of children's songs, children crying, and a motor engine.
Addendum: On ██/██/2021, near the site of an SCP-CN-2028 event in Hubei Province, a large truck was discovered to have been involved in a crash, and the driver was found to have died at the scene. After sealing the information, Foundation personnel discovered a bent brand nameplate near the truck, which after analysis was determined to have fallen off the truck during a sideswipe.
