The entrance to SCP-CN-1819

Item #: SCP-CN-1819

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-CN-1819 monitoring, containment and exploration operations are to be overseen by Site-CN-██. The industrial area where the object was originally located has been bought out by a Foundation front company. One observation point has been constructed 25 m from the entrance to SCP-CN-1819. An assessment team composed of 3 to 5 personnel is stationed at the observation point, and is to regularly inspect the Foundation-controlled region within the object to detect changes in layout, order of books, and spatial structure. The assessment team is to be changed every week; before the end of each team's shift, personnel are to assess the current state of SCP-CN-1819-1.

Exploration of SCP-CN-1819 has been indefinitely shelved.

Description: SCP-CN-1819 is a spatial anomaly inside the ████████████ factory in Dalian City. The only known entrance is through a drain located in Zone E. All attempts to dig through the surrounding structure to access the interior of the anomaly have failed, instead leading to the non-anomalous drainage system of the factory. SCP-CN-1819's interior consists of one large hall, a reading room containing books and a few alcoves, in an indistinct combination of multiple architectural styles. The interior of the anomaly appears to extend infinitely. All attempts to create and pass through an opening to leave SCP-CN-1819 have failed; controllers instead pass back into SCP-CN-1819 through the corresponding hole on the other side. Recent reports indicate that some areas are vague due to extreme spatial folding. Taking these areas as the object's boundary, it is estimated that the interior area is approximately ×ばつ106 km2. Evidence of human habitation, such as snack crumbs, food stains, and even makeshift beds made from clothes and books, is present within the object. By labeling certain objects, it can be seen that the interior of the object will regularly be updated; all traces of human habitation are appropriate for the time period.

SCP-CN-1819-A (the "reading rooms") refers to the primary structural shape within the object. SCP-CN-1819-A contains a large number of books lined up on bookshelves; the order of the books appears to be random. Traces of human presence are relatively few in the reading room; some of the bookshelves are equipped with stepladders and other library equipment. The books are arranged based on the length of each book's title, instead of their contents or the name of the author. Of note is that the contents of these books are almost identical to those found in the corresponding book in normal society; however, the characters in each book are replaced, and the same names are repeatedly used throughout the books regardless of setting or genre. In addition, in all areas explored by the Foundation, it was found that all books' titles and content were in either Simplified Chinese or English.

SCP-CN-1819-1 is a preserved human specimen in standing position inside the hall. Facial analysis indicates that the specimen is of unclear Asian descent. The specimen appears to be missing 43% of its organs. Based on medical and physiological analysis, the object appears to have been pieced together from five different humans' organs; however, inspection reveals that no seams or other traces that would indicate surgical composition are present. Reports indicate that SCP-CN-1819-1 responds to certain external stimuli.

Addendum CN-1819-A: Video Log

First frame of the video file.

Foreword: In this routine assessment, contact with Agent Zhang ████ (communications number 7-02), a member of the assessment team, was suddenly lost; attempts to track or locate Zhang failed. One month and eight days after his disappearance, the signals officer at Central Command received a signal from an unknown source thought to be within SCP-CN-1819. Technicians were gathered to carry out analysis.

<Begin Recording>

[Video begins, showing the corner of a bookshelf. 7-02 proceeds to point the camera at his own face.]

7-02: [lethargically stares into the camera]

Command: 7-02, can you hear me? We have already sent in a Mobile Task Force. Report your current coordinates to us and we'll do our best to save you and deal with any effects the anomaly may have had.

7-02: (to himself) I misunderstood what he meant.

Command: Who is "he"?

7-02: Him, that specimen. We thought he was trying to kick us out. But really… he was inviting us to join him.

Command: 7-02, I repeat, you are currently under the effects of the anomaly. Stay where you are! That's an order!

[Camera rotates to the side. Recording is heavily distorted, and the camera's inbuilt Kant counter sounds an alarm.]

7-02: [places his hand into the anomalous region, where it begins to warp, fold over itself, and disintegrate into strips.[]

7-02: I read those books. You know those five people were split limb from limb, and then put together live to create that horrifying monstrosity. But they live forever within these books.

[7-02 takes two steps forward, putting his entire right arm into the anomalous region. The feed shows the bones in his arm below the elbow slowly detaching from the flesh around it. Blood sprays outward and forms a floating spherical orb, as if unaffected by gravity, rhythmically changing its shape.

Command: Zhang! You fucking—

7-02: (sighing) That's right, I'm fucking tired of living.

[7-02 leaps into the anomalous region. The feed shows his body being split into multiple parts and slowly drying out. Blood slowly evaporates, and bones begin to break. A few seconds later, the camera encounters an error, with rusted iron parts floating out of its chassis. Signal is subsequently lost.]

<End Recording>

Note: By the time the Mobile Task Force arrived, 7-02 could not be located. Foundation physicists who later arrived at the scene indicated that this spatially anomalous region was located at the theoretical boundary of SCP-CN-1819's interior.

7-02's corpse was subsequently discovered in parts by later assessment teams; in the same report, it was stated that SCP-CN-1819-1's right hand, lungs and tibia had become complete. Forensic analysts confirmed that the newly manifested parts originated from 7-02. Other reports indicated that a new character heavily resembling 7-02 appeared in the books within SCP-CN-1819-A.

All exploration of SCP-CN-1819 has been indefinitely shelved.
